Be careful playing new music CD's in your PC now

On the new music CD's coming out starting this week the record labels have encoded hidden track software on them that loads into your PC if you play the CD on your computer.

They say its just to prevent pirating because this software code prevents you from uploading it onto the web in a form that can be played as an mp3.

But who knows what other code is lurking on these programs.

Pretty damn invasive in my opinion. Music sales will go further down I bet.

No doubt. But who knows what other monitoring software is being installed. You think they're going to tell anyone.

Impossible to fully prevent.

I can open ANY audio in ANY format on my computer and either export a wav or mp3 and upload.

these people will never stop anyhone but the 12 year olds who are burning cds and arent buying them anyway.

Its funny to watch these corporate babies scramble.

If this is true, I'll never buy another music CD as long as I live. This is going TOO FAR.

Is the recording industry turning into big brother? That's crazy stuff. That is definately a major privacy issue. If you install software on someone's computer without their consent that prevents the user from utilizing their machine the way they want to, isn't is called a VIRUS?

I don't buy CD's anymore anyways. The artist doesn't get much money off of them anyways so the only ones that get hurt is the RIAA!

worst part is, that hidden data track is known to actualy take your operating system through a plethora of errors and cause a reboot. I've even heard of some macs that crash and never recover fully. How fucking dare they dictate what medium I can play MY CD on... fuckign cock smoking bitches.

If this is true (I doubt) - don't you think that this is considered as unauthorized intervention into your PC? Or with simple words - as a hacking?

That's a good point and the guys writing the code for the record companies are probably all ex hackers. They could be loading anything in that code and no one would know.

You know what, if the price for a CD wasn't so gooddamn expensive, they would've be having this big of problem, they've been around this price since they came out! I read a magizine that said that the average cost should be around $5 - $6. And which they would sell more.

And you know why all these bands/artist are going broke? Because they only tour when theres a new album! No older band, ie Elvis, made none of his money from record sales, he made all his money from touring, and no new group tours often, they wanna be fucking lazy!
