Promoting Your Sites In Magazines & Comics

I'm gearing up as I'm going to start several new comic companies next year. I often take ads. Haven't used web based businesses before so it'll be a first.

Like to know how you guys have fared advertising in print?

All I can say about print is IT SELLS. Especially for websites. I guess the reason being is that a person passes a magazine around. Where one person might buy that mag, who knows how many will see it especially an office mag.

Due to the climate of the Bush admin, I won't be putting out any hardcore comics. Softcore yes, so I may or may not take out hardcore ads. That don't mean I control a redirect

So hit me with what you ad advertisers are looking for? Full page ads, banner sized ads etc.

Can your hero be an addict to one of my sites, and at least every few issues show him typing in my url and stuff?

Funny you mentioned that because one of my earlier projects was like animated shorts where web advertisers had their sites imbedded into the adventure as in signs in the background, character's t-shirts, planets. Some were obvious and some were 'secret hidden prizes'. All that was done on the CD.

The print stuff may have URL links added but that would more than likely be better in the CD or website version or DVD version.

See, when I make a comic I can break it off into multiple sales applications. I don't overcharge for ad space so one purchase goes a long way.

It's tricky with websites but cheap and fun. Especially when you have a webmaster/company who knows their shit.
