What did you do before becoming a webmaster?

We all weren't born webmasters. What did you do before becoming a webmaster?

I've worked as a mate on a fishing boat, was a tow truck chaser, managed a tow truck office, was a repo man for a lil while...

What did you do?

Before I became a webmaster, I... shit, I'm not a webmaster yet.

I dispatch gasoline/diesel/kero trucks for a company, sitting there, in my office, bitching about my job, trying to find a niche that I like, and pays well. Hence the reason I decided to check out GFY.

Well, I dont remember how I originally found GFY, I think it was on a wired.com article. I have been lurking, reading stuff on GFY for a few weeks now, just decided to actually start posting today. Couldn't really tell if it was a newbie-friendly place, so I posted something in the FAQ section.

The only thing I had close to a real job was working for my mom and my dad when he was alive, in a ice cream stand/annual flower market/greenhouses they owned. I didn't get a real paycheck like everyone else, I just had cash at my disposal all the time

Now I support my mom I'm not sure if I'd ever be able to work for anyone else, after working for myself.

Worked for the fucking police department for four years, went to college for one year... and then spent my last five years in the US Army (two year part time webmaster while I was n the Army). Making enough money as a webmaster, I was finally released by the Army in March 13 2003 and became a full timer now

Yeah man, I gots em...

First repo I ever did was down near willis avenue in the bronx. We were looking for a bmw. When we found it, it was behind a locked fence. The guy who was riding with me, said fuck it and cut the chain around the fence to grab the car. We used dynamic tow trucks, these trucks had the controls inside the cab for the crane on the back. Long story short, we cut the fence, hooked the car up as fast as possible. The next thing we knew, we heard gunshots coming at us. Was scary at first, but when we realized it was an 60+ year old lil black lady wearing a huse dress just like tdfs we started laughing our asses off.

When we got back to the yard, we noticed she had blown the windows right out of the car... I'll never forget her screaming.. LOL

Professional sportsman for nearly 20 years. Mainly working as an instructor at that sport, with periods of tournament play as well. Still working at that job 7 days a week and loving it.
