A duplicate name exists on the network
now im getting this retarded message when i log on..
whats going on? the message appears before even the login screen appears

it's a netbios error. when your system starts, it broadcasts and attempts to use the name you have given it. it's finding another machine on the network with the same name that's defending itself, and is going to cause some network issues.
change the netbios machine name and the error should go away.
