I would guess I would ping about 25ms Max on any server lens would get!

BTW.... A few of us should just chip in and start one anyhow, its fairly cheap and being an admin is sooooo much fun. Changing the gravity, bitchslapping players, banning people, ahhh....

And the poker tourney is a good idea too... I emailed a few of the poker sites and most of them were willing to throw a private tourney for people with enough warning some even offered to throw in prizes if enough people signed up. Hey. I'll throw in the server.. and the bandwidth.. couple conditions though.

1: Has to be a linux 8.0/9.0+ or freebsd server (most likely Linux).

2: Someone experienced would need to be appointed by some group to maintain the server, games, setup matches, basically.. a guru who knows how to setup more than just one type of game on the server.

3: It has to have 1 full time quake 3 server (I have our code tree for Quake, and will install it)

4: I can pull the box anytime if it being used for anything but gaming. No websites. No FTP file sharing. Just gaming.

We will throw 20 IPs so you can map games to ips. We'll do the dns for it.

Heh, ever since hoax got me hooked on NWN online that's all i've played. you can do pvp , or team pvp on that one. i have unreal and unreal tournament though not installed. descent 2 freespace, descent3 . i have HL, not installed though ... they are all cool though

who CAN'T kill muthafuckas with the rocket launcher? It takes skill to use rail...that's why a lot of folks will pass up the rail and risk getting fragged and go run for that rocket launcher...

I own folks with the grenade launcher too...it's a good weapon to use...grenades are plentiful on all maps for ammo and if you know how to bounce them off of shit, you can do some major damage..

Quake3 is the biggest disappointment i've ever seen from id software.

the game is cool... graphics are great, movement is fluid and everything... there's just a lack of..... "it" ... I don't know... I didnt have the same impression when I first played Quake 1 and when I first played Quake 3 ... it's still the old team with carmack and everything.. but... theres something missing.
