ever fire a gun?

we had a blast shooting off rounds on various guns.

i dont know too much about guns at all, but there was the following:

9mm handgun (do they make a rifle? i dunno)

45caliber handgun - i think he said it was police edition? i dunno, one of them was.

38 "snub nose"

357 handgun smith and wesson? was a long heavy thing lol

some sort of plastic looking assault rifle, it was semi automatic and quiet as all hell.

a bunch of various rifles, some small and some large ... some were loud as all fucking hell

i dont remember if it was the 45cal, or the 9mm but one of them after you fire it the barrel comes shooting back like 4 inches or something and if not careful it can cut up your hand ... well i wasnt careful lol

we didnt kill anything, he had 10 acres of land with targets all over the place. things like a swinging steal round plate so when you hit it, it swings around or something. made a cool sound when hit.

he also had some life size bin laden (paper) targets up all over the place.

we spent a good 4 or 5 hours having fun with them.

its funny i remember on the 357cal, after you pull back the hammer ... seams as if a feather can pull the trigger. literally NO force is needed ... kinda scary lol

id like to know how in the movies they fire these guns with no ear protection all day long ... my ears were killing me and i had plugs in!

oh well, just thought id share

Yes a lot of fun. Just got to be careful when shooting with groups especially if there are inexperienced shooters or kids around. I remember when my uncle took me shooting when I was a little kid and I started to load the clip and I accidently pointed the rifle in his direction while he was bending over to get ammo and he turns around and realizes I have the gun pointing his way while I'm loading it and he ran over and whacked me over the head and said never ever point guns towards anyone even if its unloaded.

Try an AR15 (M16) and a 44 Magnum. Those are nasty fuckers. You wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of either.

I have never shot a handgun, but have shot various shotguns and rifles (.22 rifle, .306, 12 gauge). I have gotten the whole gun pointing lecture as a kid as well - from my grandfather (how classic).

You do know that although an AR-15 is a hand cannon when shooting 223 or 7.62x39mm they do have them available in 9mm and 40cal? Actually what would be fun is to see a beginner fire off a 50 cal semi-auto ;)

Great gun! I purchased the .45 tactical not that long ago and love it. Shame no time to go to the range anymore

I was in the army. Assault rifles and machine guns rock. I also digged the bazooka and handgranades. I've also shot with 9mm and .357 when I got my securityguard license.

Yeah, shooting is fun!

And it's not very smart shooting .45 or .357 with out any ear protection! I know that from experience

The coolest gun I've ever used was a H&K UMP 9mm! 600 RPM, just bloody awesome

But the most fun is going hunting!

the UMP is chambered in 9mm? i thought that was for the mp series... the UMP is a .45 cal.

according to this:
http://www.hecklerkoch-usa.com/pages...pframeset.html

.40 s&w and .45 cal.

doesn't appear the civilian version is available in 9mm either, just .45 (USC).

ahh... my bad. according to the HK usa site, you can't get them in 9mm, or the USC.

i think the USC would be cool. but i don't know why they make a weapon like that for civilians that just screams CUT MY BARREL OFF!

Well all hand guns are "banned" in the UK, but everytime I go to the US I look up the nearest gun club and try every fucking gun in the place, usually go through 1500 rounds and 15 guns....

To say the least the gun club owners love me

Actually it's just the table at the bottom that doesn't give the 9mm, under the pic, on the USA site it said "the ump is available in .45ACP, .40 S&W and 9mm variants"

But yeah, personally I don't understand why civilians can buy fully automatic assault wepons. I mean they are designed for one purpose and one purpose only!

I just bought one of these for my son. He begins the police academy at the end of this month. http://www.glock.com/g22.htm

I was expecting to wait 21-days for a background check. All it took was my drivers license and a phone call.

Reminds me of when I was in the army.
We were at a live firing range, maybe 30 of us, and the Sargeant was behind us instructing.
Now the thing about the norwegian army is that we get priests in to serve their mandatory one year service. They automatically get the rank of Captain, to serve as the battallion priest. Even though they have NO clue about anything related to the military. Now I had this priest bastard next to me, with a loaded H&K G3 rifle. As the Sargeant spoke to us from behind, this idiot turned halfway around to look at him, sticking his loaded gun into my side, hand on trigger and safety off. At that time, we had ENORMOUS respect for the RANK, and I just took the end of his barrel, and said: "Excuse me Sir, ehhrrmmm".

This idiot didnt even realize what he had done, and just let off an embarrassed laugh and pointed the gun in the right direction again.

Shot by the priest, now that would have been something
