Good Medical Insurance for the Self Employed

Does anyone have any experience for medical insurance for the self employed? I know of a couple but they are way way way to expensive. Could you post some companies? Thanks!

If you are incorporated and want to put more than 1 person on the plab you can call up the companies themselves and get a group plan

call the national association of the self employed. They have wicked rates on first rate coverage. You also become a member with the coverage and get deals on stuff like AAA and auto insurance

I have BCBS and have had it for 7+ years. They have excellent coverage and every doctor I've ever wanted to see has been on the plan. With health insurance, you get what you pay for. In GA, BCBS pays "normal and customary" fees to the providers and the provider's contracts with BCBS prohibit them from charging more to the patient - it's not like that with all insurance companies. A friend of mine is now being hit with $4K+ in fees for charges his great discount insurance company didn't cover.

I used to have a policy through FOUNDATION HEALTH and they had pretty good coverage and excellent prices in comparison to other companies.

google search for "media aliance" or soemthing like that. They are in the bay area & accept webmasters.

Webmaster union of sorts. But their insurance rates are a little higher than what you would pay on an individual plan - but you bypass medical underwriting (medical history doesn't matter).
