I think that because the adult industry is still somewhat "taboo" or on the edge of society, it creates great opportunities for the average person. Think about if it wasn't so marginalized, you'd have bigtime mega-conglomerates doing all the content licensing, and the small-time webmaster would have no chance to work closely with the sponsor's content libraries...so being disrespected is a bit of a competitive advantage.

I get that all the time. Surprisingly not from my close family, it's usually friends, or extended family. More along the lines of "settle down, have kids already".
