something that i never truely own is not important to me. money doesn't love anyone yet people love money, why? you can't take it with you, you can't remember the good times you had with your money, so why put so much stock into money? its just currency, never truely yours yet always striving to get more. blah. money is what you make it out to be.

the value of money depends on the person, because it all comes down to how it is used. money is only paper as long as it is not spent.

'Merchandise.
When we have nothing left to give There will be no reason for us to live But when we have nothing left to lose You will have nothing left to use We owe you nothing you have no control Merchandise keeps us in line Common sense says it's by design What could a businessman ever want more than to have us sucking in his store We owe you nothing You have no control You are not what you own' you are not what you own. |

What do your best memories include? Maybe a road trip with friends? A vacation in Europe? Taking the boat out with your dad? It took money to do each and every one of those. I don't love money. I love what I can DO with money. |
All your money are belong to us.

i think those who say that money is not important are "HYPOCRITES"

I like challenges and money is a great way to keep track of how you are doing. I like to work and I like business so that tends to make money which is also cool. I still enjoy finding a thing noone has jumped on or something like that more then the actual money it makes.
Sad but true. |
Money can buy me happiness.......

Money is great as long as you keep things in perspective.
It gives you the opportunity to do great things and evil things and everything in between. It brings you power and lots of friends. It lets you choose from a much wider selection of potential mates in your relationships. It takes away a lot of the stresses of life, but not all of them. It makes you very untrusting of others. It is never enough, no matter how much you have. It takes away a lot of your privacy, because you always stand out by having it, unless you are the extreme type that likes to hide it all and play poor or low key. It makes it harder to have normal relationships. Its not as important or fun if you're health starts to go on you. Its not as important as those you love and care for especially your children. You have to have kids to understant this. Nothing comes before the love you have for your children. They give you the ultimate joy in life. Money gets old and boring for many very fast once you have acquired all the toys you dreamed of. It does buy happiness but only to a certain extent. There comes a point where the happiness factor just doesn't go any higher up in sync with making even more money. Sometimes the happiness factor even starts to recede on you. Money brings many responsibilities on your shoulders that you don't find out about until you get there. Rich is way better than poor, but it comes with a price tag just like everything else in life. |

hey dude .... money isn't important....
:1orglaugh :321GFY |
I like Ben Afflick's perspective on money in Boiler Room :)
But yes, realistically its important, but only to a point, must keep things in perspctive. My only goal in life is to be happy. Money alone can't do it for me, but it helps. I've got a huge list of things I want that money can't buy - these things are what I value most. Experiences. Friends. Knowledge. The things money can't buy, things that must be earnt, they are not commodities that can be purchased or sold. |

Money can't buy happiness, but you can rent it by the hour.
Seriously, I do not love money. That's not to say that I don't WANT money, anyone who says they're not in this for the cash is full of shit. But I don't love money. I love what can be done with it, certainly. I also happen to like making it. Spending it is fun, though...when I have it to spend. *bah* |

As mentioned earlier, we all know money can't buy happiness. Why? Because happiness is just like love, hate, terror (haha, apparently some politicians don't realize this).. it's an abstract concept that you can't buy or hold. Thing is, though, money can facilitate the acquisition of happiness. It's a bit tough to be happy when you can barely find the cash for food. |
I love when wealthy celebs like Oprah or Madonna talk about how money isn't important, then after they finish the interview they hop in their $300k car and then on their $15 million private jet and that whisks them away to their $10MM luxury mansion loaded with millions of dollars in furniture and a housestaff and assistants who are paid to kiss their asses and cater to their every need.

I'd rather be rich and unhappy than poor and unhappy.

You guys bitch about women being golddiggers, and then complain when they want quality time more than they want money. Make up your damn minds! :1orglaugh |
I've lived the years of not seeing the hubby for days at a time because he worked out of the house 16 hours a day. He was bringing home a LOT of money then.
But what good was it? None at all. He was never there for me and the kids, and that check was *not* a replacement for him. I've done the "search the house for change so we can buy a loaf of bread" thing and I've done the "let's go blow $400 in ten minutes without a single regret" thing. Things are easier when you've got money, but that doesn't automatically mean things are happier. Family is always more important than money. And generally (not always), the folks who have money are so busy getting more that they neglect their family and lose it. |

Money is important, but I would prefer to have living money (here we can have a good living with $2k per month) and be happy and healthy than make thousands per day and be unhappy and/or have healthy problems.
Oh, and money can make me work for you, see sig :Graucho |
