how big ( kb ) should a pic inside a members area be the most ?
Hi all
need some help here: how big ( in Kb ) should a pic inside a members area be the most ? whats the normal and or maximum acceptable size of good and high quality pics inside a pay site ? anyone please ? thanks michael |

Partially this depends on the site type. With a gam site like ours people except higher resolution and put up with higher KB. With most general interest sites you can hand around 1024 to 1200 max dimension (trying to keep the KB 120 or under). With amateur sites or real niche fetishes you can get away with smaller although users will still appreciate larger if you have it.
With Blue Fantasies we actually offer them a low bandwidth and high bandwidth option on all the galleries. If you can do that it's even better. =]

and I am giving them a low bandwidth and high bandwidth option just was wondering for the High quality pics if I could have some of around 250 - 280 KB on it as well ? the ones in 1024 to 1200 the normal pics for the low bandwidtg I redid all to 700 - 800, and kept them under 100 kb thanks again michael |

There's really no reason a pic even as large as 1200 should be over 200kb. You can use something like Image Ready or Zat to compress them down and keep the visual quality high. In some instances (like lots of red tones) it will be hard to compress but many times you can.
