Any Pink Floyd fans?

What's your favourite album by them?

Mine is "Wish you were here"...

I've seen them twice. Once with Roger Waters, and once without. Both shows were outstanding.

1973. And it stayed on Billboard's hot 100 album chart until 1988 or something crazy like that.

Of course, The Wall is an album unto itself. Pure greatness.

I think my 2nd most fave would be "Meddle". When Floyd played Olympic Stadium in 1988, they actually opened their show with "Echoes"... that song is over 23 minutes long!

I love watching gilmour playing guitar on his lap, almost steel guitar style.

My favorite quote from that.. Roger Waters "we are not a drug orieanted band" as he peers through slits for eyes

The Wall

second place - wish you were here

I liked Waters "Radio KAOS"

The powers that be
They like a tough game
No rules
Some you win, some you lose
Competition's good for you
They're dying to be free
They're the powers that be
They like a bomb proof cadillac
Air conditioned, gold taps
Back seat gun rack, platinum hub caps
They pick horses for courses
They're the market forces
Nice car Jack
They like order, make-up, lime light power
game shows, rodeos, star wars, TV
They're the powers that be
If you see them come
You better run - run
You better run on home

Best guitar solo: Mother

Wierdest song: Careful With That Axe, Eugene

Favorite song: Welcome to the Machine

Yeah, I like Pink Floyd

Well...there are so many different Floyds...Syd Barrett's Floyd and Roger Waters' Floyd....kind of like Black Sabbath

but "Wish you were here" is very cool...I heard they laid down each note separate in the studio on those songs.

Oh...and, by the way, which one is Pink?

Best Billboard i ever saw was when they showed Floyd the Barber from Andy Griffith and the entire thing was pink.

It said nothing just a date....it took me a minute to realize it meant pink floyd and the date was when they were to play....genius

Closely followed by "The Wall".

I wouldn't say that they *all* rock.

The band lost a lot when Roger Waters left. And honestly, Syd Barrett wasn't that huge an influence on their success.
