Anyone any experience at domain name fraud ? (godaddy)

Godaddy somehow managed to move one of my domains into someone elses account. Despite 8/9 days of email correspondance and the evidence of their own renewal receipt showing it as belonging in my account, they have refused to return the domain into my account. Since then the person who's account they moved it into has cancelled it (not surprizingly, it was up for renewal again). This will obviously result in loss of earnings for me, possibly chargebacks etc.

Anyone know a good lawyer in the states who can crack their nuts for me ?

did you register your domain with go daddy, or did godaddy do the transfer (or both?)

On the other hand they have nice and very fast support ( unlike Dotster ).

But that doesn't help when you lose domains.

I've never had any problems.. but I think his problem might be that his domains were registered someplace else and somebody requested the transfer at godaddy. In that case I believe it is the fault of the company that registered his domains in the first place and allowed the transfer request without asking for authorization from him.

Naw, the domain wasn't hacked. Their software just fucked up. I had much more valuable domains in the account which weren't touched. And all information about it, including the whois registration details and the last renewal receipt showed it as my domain and showed my account number.

Also, no transfers took place. I registered it with godaddy and no transfer in or out has ever occurred.

They updated their software about a year ago, since then I've heard lots of horror stories. But that happens, it's the refusing to do anything about it and allowing the domain to be cancelled that's the really bad part.

That's why I want a lawyer to contact them. It's gonna cost me 3000-5000 bucks in lost earnings, possibly much more if the chargebacks get out of hand.
