A lot of americans seem to have a bit of arrogance in them, and seem to base their own personal importance on stuff they never ever had a thing to do about themselves.

I mean, I like the USA, the country, the amount of technology the US has, the big ass cities, but hey, dont forget you're not perfect. I mean, yeah, sure you have the strongest economy. But don't forget to mention you have god knows how many millions in prison, the murder capital of the world, millions of people living of money they dont even have with their credit cards.

It's not as simple as saying: the US sucks or the US is God. I'd just wish people would lay of the arrogance and the 'police the world-thing'. I mean, it just makes matters worse. It's al about culture, and that's just the thing that makes people 'itchy'. In my opinion, people in the USA are taught (not sure about the spelling...english is not my native language) to love their country, land of the brave, hail to the flag and all that semper fi stuff. That proudness is a very important part of the US-identity, and in itself there is nothing wrong with that.

Other countries are much less into this kinda thing and to them this can be somewhat 'sickening'. The thing is that proudness and arrogance are very close to eachother, and are easily either mistaken for one another or even worse, leading to the other.

This tread is a perfect example of this.
