Appartement rents in USA?

How much is a rent for 2 bedroom airconditioned appartement where you live?.. and where do you live?

...also, are pets usually allowed in rented appartements?

Just trying to get a basic idea, gonna start making arrangements (like bribing the immigration fuckers) soon.
Gonna move the fuck out of finland as soon as I graduate. I haven't decided anything on the location yet, but somewhere warm. US has it's advantages, I'm being paid in usd and most of you fuckers speak english.. Panama is another option I've been pondering.

Yeah, my options in the us (currently) are Florida, California or Hawaii. I don't EVER want to see snow again.

Looking at about $750 or so, for an apartment down in Texas.

Tho, I've bought an investment property with those stats, for about $683/mo.

A house like that rents for about $850 or so.

$400 to $550 a month for 2 bedroom

pets are not usually allowed no matter where you go. landlords dont like having to deal with pets....so it takes time to look for one that doesnt mind them, but they are out there.
last 2 places we rented pets werent an option on the lease, but the landlords allowed pets after speaking to them.
you just gotta look around.

I've lived in both California and Florida , heres how id break them down.

California
--------------
Extremely exepensive. This includes rent, gas, dmv fees, high state income tax, high sales tax. Even fucking mcdonalds is more expensive there.

Weather is pretty mild. In the Winter its chilly in the morning and night, but warm in the day. The winter can be frusterating at times because it can be ice cold inside and 70 outside.

Definitely get a place shielded from the wind and with lower ceilings, then that winter problem wont be a problem.

Hardly ever rains.

Not much plant or animal life.

Florida
-----------------
More affordable. Cheaper rents, no state income tax, cheaper dmv fees, etc.

Alot mure humid and way more rainy in the summer than CA, but a better winter than CA.

The people are more stupid in FL than CA (if thats humanly possible).

Central Ohio, 500-1500 per month for a 2 - 3 BR. There are deals that you can get 400 a month with certain leases too. AC is always included unless you move into someplace you need body armor. lol Pets are one of of those things... some allow them, some don't. Others just want a special deposit for having them UNLESS they are pits etc. In that case, you lose.

And the weather is something more like what youare used to. We have winters and WE think they are harsh but from what I have read, nothing like Finland. Nice summers, springs and falls on top of a 3 month Winter.

Everything that ANY other large city has without all the BS. Crime is lower. And lots of things to do unless you want an oceanfront beach or SERIOUS mountains. Even have ski resorts. ;-)

You can BUY a house out in the country or further from the cities for 100-150k thats only 20 mins from a large city.

Oh and our 'lectric only goes out from serious storms. lol Bat'tries includ'd. lmbo

You're moving and you want to come to the US?!?

Anyway...

I paid $800 for a 2 bedroom, 1000 sq. foot apartment in Vegas. It was the nicest apartment I've ever rented.

Where I'm at (South Jersey), 2 br/2 bath is $900+. Like aflex said, NJ rent is freakin' nuts. My old place in central PA was a gorgeous house, total seclusion, horse stables, pool, etc and that cost me not even half of what I'm now paying. Damn, I miss that place.

Come to Cali.

About 1k + for a nice clean apt.

Close enough to the ocean to surf, close enough to the mountains to snowboard and ski.

California, and the best weather is San Diego, after San Diego for weather Bay Area, but around the Mountain View,
Palo Alto. But both are expensive. I moved from the Bay Area it just got out of hand. I hear from friends it's come
down a lot.

I now live in Fresno, central California. A 2 bedroom any were from $600.00 to $ 900.00. Only thing is (I found out after I moved back here) Fresno has the 2nd dirtiest air in the country, right behind Los Angeles. Fresno is growing fast as hell right now, has a great Unv. Fresno State, is about 5 or 10 Min.'s you can go one way and be in the middle of Farm's the other way in 30 Min.'s be in the Mountains. If you like looking Farm Land they have some dam HUGE ones, irrigation canals as big as Rivers. Have just dam beautiful mountains, 25 years ago when I lived here use 2 do a lot of back packing and fishing in the mountains. Nothing beats getting pussy, just you a girl and god under the star's.

Fresno, 500,000 plus with surrounding area's I'd say 1,000,000.
get's hot in the summer, not very cold in the winter (to me cold is 40) and hot is 100+ we just set a record 16 days over 100

In Tennessee, the rent is considerably cheaper, and you're almost expected to have pets. 2 bedrooms, 1 bath $360/mo cable TV furnished

3bedrooms, 2 bath, vaulted ceilings pets okay w/deposit, two floors, $450/mo

2 bedroom house, fully finished loft, pets ok, 1 bath, fully built office space with shelving (the whole fucking wall on one side is nothing but shelves and built-in computer desks (2) ) $450/mo

We don't have apartments in my town, but you can get a nice single wide for $400 a month.

In the suburbs of Atlanta, $800 would get you a nice 2/2, add about $300 for closer into town and another couple hundred for DT Atlanta (but not a hirise).

Apartments here are DESPERATE for renters because the interest rates are so low people are buying instead of renting. I've seen $1000 referral fees, free moving offers, 3 months free, free utilities, etc. If you're going to move here and rent, NOW'S the time to do it!

Austin Texas ranges from 500$-700$ for a 2 bedroom.

There are no "bad areas" of austin, its all about how close you want to live to downtown or to dell

Check out Gainesville -- cheap rent and lots of young people and cheap beer... I live in a privately owned place that's furnished... I'm thinking I'll buy a house here soon and put down some roots...

check out... alligator.org to see what's for rent around here. Prices are real cheap. Here you're about half way in the middle of the state so I guess like 2 hours to each coast. People complain there's not a lot to do here but it's really what you make of it... The local area here revolves around the students and the big hospital here Shands... My guess is you could find a decent 2 bedroom $600 in some complex with a snazzy pool... For $1000+ you can rent a whole house with a yard.

Craigslist is a good place to look too. I think the rents are more reasonable than looking at places like apartment.com

http://www.craigslist.org

they have sections for san diego, la, miami, austin, dallas, atlanta.

If you're looking for a place in Cali, a great online site is West Side Rentals

You can do some free searches. The hardest part will be deciding where to live in Cali. There is soo much diversity here, just depends on what flavor of lifestyle you're looking for.

If I were to rent out my house (3 bed, 2 bath) here in newport beach it would be about 3,000.00/month.

a 2/2 in newport will run anywhere from 1,500-2,100.00/month.

Hmm, seems hard to find a place that allows dogs. I have a 50lbs dog. Most places I've checked out have "Pets under 20lbs" or "cats allowed". Bastards.

Well, it's not important yet.. considering my move won't be for another year or 2..

Myrtle Beach, SC - $900 for a nice 2 bedroom close to the beach.. gets cold in the winter & turns into a ghost town.. boring, lots of old retired folk..

Tampa, FL - $1,200 for a nice 2 bedroom.. I found west florida pretty boring though as well..

Los Angeles (in the valley) - $1,100 small 1 bedroom dump in a nice area.. looked out at another building 10 feet away & right on a *very* busy street.. it NEVER rains..

North Miami - $1,500 for a nice 2 bedroom in a highrise with ocean & bay view.. valet, concierge, the works.. gorgeous beaches, plenty to do, lots of nightlife around the clock here - most clubs close between 4 & 6am I believe, when others are openning up

I'm in San Diego paying $1800/mo for 2 bed apt. Trying to get into a home, but damn, looking at 400k for just a 3 bedroom. Weather is killer here and the quality of life is great, but its expensive.

Couldn't agree more...we are in Santa Monica, paying 1500 for a 2 bdrm. But the house we want is 1.7 mil...yikes!!!
