Going into college... Go Cornell!

I'd assume that 90% of all GFYers have never had a formal education. Am I right in saying that? :glugglug

NaughtyAllie 08-12-2003 06:35 AM

I have a BS in Accounting. I met my fiance before I graduated and he was making money promoting porn online :) I have been in the online adult industry ever since I graduated (about three years now) :thumbsup

I think attending college has helped me more than I would like to admit.

Unfed 08-12-2003 07:11 AM

I was on the 7 yr. plan through college. Finally graduated in '99 with a BA in Liberal Studies (elementary education).

The only thing my degree has gotten me... interviews. Some times I think it was a waste b/c I didn't use my degree. If I could do it over, I would have gotten a BS in marketing, business or communications.

I know a guy who is a few classes from his degree. He stopped going to college some yrs. ago. He is successful and makes a shitload of $$$. Sad thing there is, if he and I went for the same position with a mainstream company, he wouldn't even get an interview b/c he has does not have a degree. That is just unfair by society. He is smarter and more experienced than I am and by overlooking him a company would miss out on one hell of an employee who could contribute immensely to the company.

Degree vs. experience...........

I'm working on my marketing degree

snowpimp 08-12-2003 12:08 PM

I earned a bachelor's degree in business management from UMASS Amherst. I also took some html/internet classes my last year and got a marketing internship for a local web design company. Combining those three landed me an entry level job at xpics for 35k a year in spring of 98.

magicmike 08-12-2003 12:29 PM

I was majoring in Political Science with a minor in CS when I dropped out and concentrated on porn. :)

:thumbsup
