They are, but they carry such a stigma in so many communities, people will probably continue to complain even when the service is good.

any recommendation for a good ISP or hosting company?

Cogent is offering $1k for 100Mbits, what do you think?

if its not too mission critical. id use cogent if you truly need 100mbps which not too many people for not critical usage.

For On-net traffic

Off Net its more like $30 per mbps for 100mbps line

Been Using Cogent for a year to serve 80mbit per second Sustained of streaming Video. No Problems with them and can't beat the price. Who cares if the market complains about them, if you truly need a lot of Bandwidth for stuff Like Video or a Game Server they are the way to Go. (They Do have a financial issue with Cisco, but I think all will be cool for another year)

I don't see the reason why, game servers use very little transfer, and speed (both server and bw) and low ping rates are very important. So why save a few bucks on bandwidth if 95% of what you pay is for the hardware anyway? Maybe I'm missing something though.
