As far as your flu comments, I call bullshit. Sick people get on fucking planes every damn day, they go shopping, and eat at resturaunts. They do not give a rats ass about other peoples health. Yet unlike second hand smokes side effect, which are inconclusive, We can proove that sick people kill others. |
rap music is pretty damn offensive too....

Primadonnas really tick me off. Arrogant bastards that put down newbies just to stoke their egos. Generally, mediocre people that have to put down others to make themselves feel good.
|
I am offended by ignorance.
Ignorance begats hate, closed minds, lack of respect/understanding; idiocy in general. I am excited by education; education beyond books, education that comes from learning about and embracing diversity (race, creed, culture, lifestyle, religion, et al), learning to respect one another, learning to appreciate individuality on all levels. |

pretty much... but some people think that as soon as there's fertilization... like magic, a human with a soul has been created... :2 cents: |

White cops from America beating up Black hand-cuffed men for no reason when there not doing anything.
And it going to court and the white cops win NOW THAT REALLY PISSES ME OFF |
Maybe it's because I'm female, or maybe I'm overly sensitive, but I DO care about other people's health. I do not go out when I am sick unless it is an emergency in which case I will go straight to where I need to go, staying as far away from people as possible the whole time, and come straight home. If I am sick and I go to the doctor's office, I will stand against the wall instead of sitting beside someone else. If I am too sick to stand, I sit in the floor as far away from the others as possible.
I care about the lives of the unborn babies of mothers who think of them as nothing but accidents that need to be cleaned up. Abortion has a choice for the mother, and believe me I do feel for the women who get pregnant and do not want to be, but my heart aches more for the children who cannot choose to live. Whether or not they are technically "alive" a few weeks after conception can (and may) be argued forever, the POTENTIAL for life exists, and it hurts me to see that snatched away just because a woman had sex before she was ready to have a child. I care about the lives of the children whose parents smoke in the same room with them and cause them health problems. I had bronchitis and severe ear infections several times a year for the first 15 years of my life because my father smoked so much. When I was 15 I wasn't at home as much and I spent alot more time outside and in my room instead of in the living room with him and my health improved dramatically. For me, the proof that secondhand smoke causes illness had already been proven. I support smokers' rights to smoke, and I do not try to lay claim to smoking areas, so smokers should respect my rights as well. I care about the lives of the other people on the road with me, so I do not drink and drive, I do not use a cell phone will driving, I do not eat while driving, I do not apply makeup or even check myself in a mirror while driving. I care. Honestly, I do. I have extreme respect for human rights and human life. It is things like abortion that really tear me up, though. It's a hard choice. The hardest, really. Because it's unfortunate that the rights of one person (the potential child) must be infringed upon in the worst possible way to protect the rights of another person. I do believe abortion should be an option in cases of rape or incest, but I don't know where to draw a line when a woman makes the choice to have sex and ends up pregnant. I think it is awful that a child has to give up his or her right to life simply because a woman made a bad decision. :( I care too much. *sigh* |

#1 Vindictiveness. Giving complete strangers the benefit of the doubt and then being spiteful to those you are closest to.
For instance, when a stranger shows up he seems to be the king. Relatives and friends get spiteful, the stranger rules all. No one would want a stranger to think they are mean would they? Try it, Take notice how your spouse and relatives change their attitude towards you when a stranger shows up. I have accused my mother of this many a time: "you become vindictive towards me and give a complete stranger the benefit of the doubt" I ain't shittin it's fucked up and drives me nuts. #2 RELIGION probably the cause of #1. |

At best... at very best... he appears to be doing nothing because he's waiting for potential witnesses to leave. |
Abortion doesn't offend me. I have no right to serve as a moral conscience for anyone other than myself.
However, abortion should not be birth control any more than motherhood should be a punishment. http://www.waterboyz.com/Images/kaipo5-26barrel.gif |

And when you bring "soul" into the discussion then then we have entered the realm of pure Ivory Tower chit chat. |
As for the controversy of whether a baby is alive before a certain gestation... anyone can argue either side until they are blue in the face and the other side will never change their minds. If some people want to justify their actions by claiming the baby wasn't alive yet, then so be it.
It's still heartbreaking to me. If the potential for life exists, it's enough for me. I feel that *I* was alive after conception and I'm damned glad my mother didn't kill me. That's all I can say on that subject. :) |

SO you think its ok to smash someone's face on a car bonnet for no reason what so ever? |
Quote:
lol, what sort of ludicrous straw man argument is that?! Not alive? When, pray tell, was the last time you heard a pro-choicer argue that a fetus "isn't alive"? Of course its alive, but merely being alive doesn't make it a human person deserving of protection under the law. |

well 2 things... every sperm represent one DNA... so one unique individual... if you dont believe in God (and souls)... what your saying is basically, every sperm "wasted" represent millions of potential (pisted off) children? If you believe in God and souls... and you believe that a mass of blood and cells is not a human nor have a soul... well, your soul will just be in another body... |

yep, life is a process, nothing magic just science (even if you believe in God)... plants, animals all go thru it... its cells multiplying... Is a kid alive because 2 cells just split up? |
