Format C

I formated C drive on this desktop computer. I switched the boot order to floppy drive first. I have tried a serious of boot disk with no success. What am I doing wrong?

BTW, this is the first I ever had to do this.

Error messages:

Invalid systen disk
Replace the disk, and then press any key

Non-System disk or disk error
Replace the disk, and then press any key

Disk I/0 error
Replace the disk, and then press any key

I downloaded every boot disk from bootdisk.com. And get these same various messages.

Yes I am just putting a new windows software on this computer.

Try this:

Restart the machine with the boot disk in the floppy drive. At the A:\> prompt type: sys C: and press enter. When it's done, remove the floppy and restart the computer.

I just can't find a boot disk that works. I don't the "A:\>prompt" option. I get error messages. I have tried 10 different boot disks

Nope the only windows software I own are for notebooks. My buddy wanted me to fix this computer and it is kind of old with a "windows98SE" software.

This is why I hate computers. See if any of this info helps

Universal Boot Disk

Win 98SE error message

Microsoft Support - Your error message

And type in your error message at Google. It shows a lot of stuff relating to that error message
