My cedar plank salmon recipe is better.
Purchase cedar plank. Do not cut your own, or buy from a lumber store. (Yes, some people do this. and wonder why they almost DIE.)
- Soak cedar plank completely in water for 24 hours. - Fillet salmon - Place fillets in a long tray. - Add soy-sauce to the tray - (2-4 tbl spoons) Take brown sugar, sprinkle on fish - (2tbl spoons) Sprinkle coarse salt on fish - Let salmon marinate for 4-8 hours Take plank out of water. Coat with olive oil (side salmon will go on) You may add some lemon juice with the olive oil. Place fillet on plank. Place on BBQ for 8-12 minutes or until desired readiness is reached. Eat. Enjoy the best salmon you have ever tasted. |

You can cut it yourself from the lumber store if it is untreated.
We caught 125 salmon two weekends ago ;) ![]() |

Mostly reds and a few kings. I thought a former Alaskan would be able to tell the difference! ;)
We were dipnetting at the mouth of the Kenai river. |

Yes, pretty small kings. I still havent made it to the southeast. Its more expensive to go to Sitka than Hawaii! Did you know any of the Haags when you lived there? They owned a big bar there, I forget the name but it was like the Chilkoot Charlies of Sitka?
