LOS ANGELES -- Friends won't be back after next year, but one Friend will.

Matt LeBlanc will star as Joey, his character in the wildly popular sitcom, in a Friends spinoff tentatively titled Joey, for fall 2004.

NBC president Jeff Zucker made the surprise announcement Thursday at the semi-annual gathering of the Television Critics Association.

In an interview with entertainment magazine or something, he stated he would never do a spin off... This might be just hollywood hub bub..

If it is true, then Im surprised, and I hope its funny, and I hope they pay him more than the dude on Frasier... He's the highest paid star on television..
