Corvett, will CCBill be offering it's delayed $750 fee deal again?

When the fit hit the shan last time, CCBill raked in the new clients by offering a deal where the webmasters didn't have to pay the $750 fee; instead it was taken out of their profits over time. This ended in May.

Is CCBill going to do this again for the Globill webmasters?

Carrie,

At this point, I have not heard of any plans to reinstate the Visa registration fee reimbursement due to the recent and unfortunate Globill announcement. I can add that although the signup deadline was originally stated as 5-1-2003, as an internal act of good faith, we did extend that timetable out several weeks to ensure that clients that signed up a bit late and wanted to take advantage of the fee reimbursement would be able to. If anything changes, we will make sure that an announcement is made. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our sales staff or myself

For clarity, I have reposted my original post concerning the fee below.

Thanks

Just to let everyone know, while we are currently paying back the $750 Visa registration fee, we are going to discontinue this practice for accounts that sign up after the 1st of May.

The fee was initially intended to help our existing clients, some of which were struggling webmasters who were very surprised by the unforeseen change in Visas rules. CCBill decided that it would reward those clients for their loyalty by assisting in covering their registration fee, a decision that many of our clients were very pleased with.

We have continued the program indefinitely because some of our clients were unsure of their need or desire to even accept Visa, and we wanted them to have a chance to decide without forfeiting their ability to take advantage of our program.

The flip side of the coin to all of this, of course, is that we end up paying the full registration fee for each client out of our own pockets. In addition, we have had to add staffing and resources for the integration, design and implementation of the new systems?all costs that we did not pass onto our clients.

If we wish to provide the same level of service that we had in the past, continue to remain one of the few processors not charging chargeback fees, continue to not charge processing fees on refunded or returned transactions, among many other things, we would have to turn the responsibility of the Visa registration fees back over to the webmaster. The program was never intended to underwrite start-ups.

We believe that all of our clients who want Visa have now registered or are in a position to make the decision. As a result, we decided that May 1 was a good time to end the program. So if you want a new CCBill account, be registered with Visa US, and you want us to return the Visa fee to you, sign up between now and the end of April.

In addition, any accounts that sign up during that time period and email me their account number; I will gladly reduce their starting CCBill fee to 13.5% (from 14.5%).

If you have any questions, feel free to icq or email me

Thanks

Just a thought here: I think it would be great if you guys would reinstate that. You'd rake in MANY webmasters who suddenly have to find a new processor, and I also believe that you'd get quite a few newbs who need processing but can't afford to pay the Visa extortion...err...fees...at this point.

I wouldn't expect them to do so... but then again I don't see any point in extending a hand to all the people who decided that Globill was such a great choice in view of RonC's comments on this board at the time it all went down.

At this point I'd just be glad that Visa is approving these sites for compliant IPSP processing, Lord knows they don't have to.

Well that would be pretty short-sighted of Visa, *not* to approve these sites.
That's nearly like saying "okay, the door is closed now, no new sites. Should've gotten in nearly a year ago when we initiated the charges. "

Actually, that would be Brad Shaw's dream... no new competition.

The reason CCbill did that in the first place was because it's members had alot of money in Visa Rebills they'd lose..
New members comming from Globill won't have them as they'll lose the rebills with Globills dive~!

I got creamed by this deal, but I'm not going to hang around and question whether or not my entire business is worth $750 or not.

Each one of your posts is like lifting the cover of a full week sun exposed garbage can: it stinks.

You seem to be having a great time on other peoples unfortunes. Not evybody is in the fucking USA, and just needs to pay the 750.00. By the time I finished setting up my US corp, the CCbill deal was over. I paid Ibill because I had rebills with them ( and FYI I still haven't got my money from them - from feb.15th on).

So KimmyKim, I tought of maybe using your Epassport thing, but honestly I will give my site for free before I ever do that.

In another post ( of the same unpleasant nature), you said you were going swiming in your pool. Too bad you didn't sink to the bottom... for ever... You would feel at home with other bottom feeders.

But Carrie, why should they accept these sites? The owners have already shown (at least the US ones) a willingness to flaunt the Visa rules along with Globill...

Think about it.

You feel bad because I'm not crying a river for a bunch of people that knew the risks when they chose them?

Negative would be calling you a completely idiotic moron but I'll leave that for another time.

This is a business and when people decide to start treating it like one then they will certainly be better off.

If you waiting to incorporate until nearly 7 months after the rule, that doesn't show much incentive on your part now does it?

Popularity doesnt bother me, or the lack thereof... I'll call em the way I see them and be done with it.

Again stinking assumptions on your part... I said above " garbage can" my mistake; I should have said " refusal container" of a fast food restaurant ....

Take a look at the date of the document, and tell me know that : much incentive"...

You are so simplistic ... A lot of webmasters used Globill BEFORE the Viisa reg as I did and continued for the rebills....

Are you having your first orgasm since Website billing went under,,,,???

This thread is going to go one of two ways I predict.

EITHER:

1) It'll be a yawner..time to head for "greener" pastures.
2)Get out the popcorn & kettlecorn folks!

Taking 2-1 odds on #2.
Any takers?

Yes, I agree - CCbill would definitely benefit by reinstating their offer regarding Visa's extortion fees. I have been using CCbill as the seconday processor for my smaller site for the past year.
Now I have them as the sole processor for my larger site, which has been up and running successfully for over three years. My membership (recurring & otherwise) is strong and consistent.

Even if CCBill offered a payment plan, I know that it would be helpful to all who have been fucked by Glo-Bill! It's not easy to pull $750 out of your ass, right after being frozen in your tracks.

PS - KK obviously has no life to speak of if she has the time to sit around and gloat at the misfortunes of others. Can you say "fat chick"?
