Does Controversy help sales???

MSNBC last night...Kieth Olberman really made the guy from hunting bambi look like an idiot on national television....

MSNBC reports that the whole thing was just a made up event to help get traffic and sign ups to the website...

They claim that this was a big hoax...and if were true would be highly illegal in Nevada..

The mayor of Las vegas Oscar Goodman even said " this is all a big scam" and that he plans to have the authorties look into it...

So my question is if this guy from the hunting bambi is convicted of fraud...how smart was it for him to take this path?

share YOUR thoughts on this subject

What fraud did he commit? He was only creating hype to sell video tapes. There is no law against hype.

He lied = fraud in most court cases!

he said it was something that it was not...

Hyping controversy is not the same as lying about your product to your consumers is it? do you think so?

as far as i've been able to grasp there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Works of fiction can claim to be true accounts w/o being labelled fraud. See entry for BangBus.

yes this may pass but there was no disclaimer made by this company...instead quite the opposite they flat out advertised it to be something that it is not.

oh yeah and unless I missed it Bangbus has never made the national news over their claims either?
