Renaming Files?
i'm on a new server that won't allow me to rename files with an FTP client. I need to rename whole folders of files i.e blondechick.jpg blackchick.jpg etc renamed to 1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg -
can anybody post a Unix command or script i can use to do this? I can rename one file at a time but that is going to take too long. thanks

youll need to chown the files so you are the owner, then you can make the renaming in ftp
