Okay, I guess I'll fess up, too, then.

1.) You know who Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael and Donatello are.

Well, DUH! Mike was my fave!

2.) You remember the Milli Vanilli scandal.

Oh lord, do I remember.

3.) You religiously watched 90210, MelrosePlace, Party of Five, and My So-Called Life.

Only 90210, but I'd nearly have KILLED to watch it.

4.) You tight-rolled your jeans.

Did it.

5.) You wore big hoop earrings.

Yep.

6.) You thought bellbottoms were horrible and couldn't understand why anyone would've ever worn them.

Those were horrid.

7.) You knew how to do the dances called the MC Hammer, the Roger Rabbit, and the running man.

I know how, but actually PERFORMING them was another story! LOL

8.) You owned a pair of K-Swiss, Keds, or Air Jordans.

Keds, yes I did.

9.) You thought "Ice Ice Baby" was the coolest song ever, and when your parents told you Vanilla Ice would be a shot in the pan, you refused to believe them.

I did a report on him in English class in 8th grade. I thought he was awesome. How could I be so gullible?

10.) Your bangs were at least 4 inches high, and you thought it looked good.

5 and a half inches, thank-you-very-much!

11.) You tryed to sing along to "Informer", no matter how hard it was.

I'm drawing a blank on this one.

12.) You or your sister owned a banana barette and a T-clip.

I had banana clips in dozens of colors, but I didn't wear them after about 1987.

13.) A hairdryer was required to set your hair.

There was no way in hell that much hairspray would have ever dried on its own!

14.) You rolled up the sleeves of your t-shirts, and tucked in the front, letting the back hang out.

Not that I remember. A couple of boyfriends did, though.

15.) You had any "No Fear" or "B.U.M." clothing.

My parents bought my clothes at garage sales, so no, I didn't have anything like that. I had a pair of used Keds, though.

16.) You wore 2 pairs of neon colored socks.

Did that for alot of years. Usually with my used Reeboks or Converse All-Stars (which were actually cheap enough that my parents bought me some new!)

17.) You wore overalls with only one side connected.

I only did that once that I can remember because I didn't own overalls, but I wore a friend's once.

18.) You had Exclamation perfume.

My best friend used this, and it was the only kind she would wear. I borrowed it sometimes, usually for our Friday night mall excursion.

19.) You remember when cartoons were actually GOOD, and not scary like the Teletubbies.

God, I miss the Smurfs.

20.) You loved to slow dance to Power Ballads.

Ohhhh, yeah.

21.) You had a "slap bracelet".

*A* slap bracelet? I had tons of them. I won a bunch at the carnival and traded them. They got bent alot and then they wouldn't curl around your write right anymore.

22.) You >wore your sweatpants pulled up to your knees.

No, but I wore my gym shorts OVER my sweatpants in gym class.

23.) You had a black Debbie Gibson hat.

No, but I had Electric Youth perfume.

24.) You wanted to be just like Paula Abdul.

Yeah, she could DANCE!

25.) You know the words to "The Humpty Dance".

I still remember them!

26.) You owned the Spin Doctors tape.

Nope.

27.) You said, "PSYCH" or "WAY!"

I said "way!" a few times but "psyche!" was uttered by me on a daily basis.

28.) You saw "Wayne's World" at least 2 times at the theater.

Parents didn't give me movie money often but I watched it on TV a bunch of times.

29.) You loved the New Kids on the Block (and Joey was probably your favorite.)

Joe was so adorable.

30.) You wore jeans pulled up to your navel.

I don't remember.

31.) All of your clothes were "baggy".

Except a couple of skirts and a blazer that I wore with baggy shorts.

32.) You owned a pair of biker shorts, and possibly ones with a neon strip down the side.

I remember having two pairs. One was black with a neon green stripe down the side and the other was black with a black and white checkerboard stripe down the side.

33.) You wore "water shoes" into the pool.

I still do.

34.) You had a boom box, or your stereo was a weird color like pink.

Mine was a Magnavox and was the exact same kind the Huxtable kids had on the Cosby Show. My grandmother bought it for me with stamps she saved at the grocery store.

35.) You bought tapes instead of CDs.

Yep. Although most of my tapes came from recording songs off the radio.

36.) You never missed "Fresh Prince" and you know all the words to the theme song.

I still know the words and so do my kids!

37.) You or someone you knew wore "Cross-Colors" clothing.

Nope, drawing another blank.

38.) You remember when TLC weren't divas, and they dressed like they were in the circus.

Heh.. yeah, I remember that.

39.) You thought "I'm Too Sexy" was such a cool song.

Whatever happened to Right Said Fred? That was such a funny song!

40.) You "busted a move" while C&C Music Factory was playing.

Oh yeah, and we sang their stuff in gym class every day.

41.) You remember when Mark Wahlberg was part of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch

Unfortunately.

42.) You owned a silk shirt, which you tucked into your jeans.

Yep, I got one for Christmas one year.

43.) You had jeans in various colors, like green, brown, burgundy, black...

Purple and orange were the colors I had.

44.) You had a "Button Your Fly" t-shirt.

No, but I had the button.

45.) You had a Ren and Stimpy t-shirt.

No, but I wanted one.

46.) You thought long-haired heavy metal bands would never go out of style.

THEY WENT OUT OF STYLE??? Never!

47.) You were addicted to Nintendo.

Super Mario 3 was my addition. But we didn't have a Nintendo so I played at my friends' houses, much to their dismay.

48.) There was always a "scrunchy" in your pony tail.

Still wear those sometimes.

49.) You gave the "peace" sign all the time.

Yeah, in 1986.

50.) You loved Beavis and Butthead.

They still rock hard.

51.) If you were a guy, you had an "undercut" and you parted it down the middle.

A friend of mine (a girl) did.

52.)You owned at least one Hypercolor shirt.

Yeah, but my mom spaced out and put it in the dryer after I only wore it once. Grr. I really liked the guys putting their hands all over my shirt. LOL

Man, that list is like being in a time machine to back in the day. The late 80's / early 90's were a wild time to be a teenager.

Snow
Informer

What's up man hey yo what's up
Yeah what's goin' on here
Sick an' tired of five-oh runnin' up on the block here
You know what I'm sayin'
Yo Snow they came around here lookin' for you the other day
Word word bust it

CHORUS:
Informer you no say daddy me Snow me I'll go blame
A licky boom boom down
Detective mon said daddy me Snow me stab someone down the lane
A licky Boom Boom Down.

CHORUS.

Police them come an' now they blow down me door
One him come crawl through through my window
So then they put me in the back the car at the station
From that point on me reach my destination
When the destination reached it was the east detention
Where them whipped down me pants looked up me bottom so

CHORUS.

Bigger they are they think they have more power
They're on the phone me say that on (every) hour
Me for want to use it once an' now me call me lover
Lover who I'll be callin is the one Tammy
An' me love her in me heart down to my belly
Yes me daddy me Snow me I feel cool an' deadly
As the one MC Shan an' the one daddy Snow
Together we-a love 'em as a Tor-Na-Do

CHORUS.

Listen for me you better listen for me now (x2)
When me rockin' the microphone me rock it steady
Yes sir daddy me Snow me are the article don
But in the in an' the out of a dance them they say where you come from
People them say you come from Jamaica
But me born an' raised in the ghetto that's the one I want you to know
Pure black people mon that's all I mon know
Yeah me shoes are tear up an' me toes used to show
Where me born in on the one Toronto so

CHORUS.

Come with a nice young lady.
Intelligent yes she's gentle an' irie
Everywhere me go me never left her at all
Yes its daddy Snow me are the roam dance mon
Roam between a dancin' in a in a nation-a
You never know say daddy me Snow me are the Boom Shakata
Me never lay-a down flat in that one cardboard box
Yes say me Daddy me Snow me I'll go reachin' at the top so

CHORUS.

Why would he (x2)

Me sittin' 'round cool with my dibbie dibbie girl
Police knock my door lick up my pal
Rough me up an' I can't do a thing
Pick up my line when my telephone ring
Take me to the station black up my hands
Trail me down 'cuz I'm hangin' with the Snowman
What I'm gonna do I'm backed an' I'm trapped
Slap me in the face an' took all o' my gap
They have no clues an' they wanna get warmer
But Shan won't turn informer

CHORUS.

Class of 93

life was so much fun in the late 80's early 90's

I tell these youngin's all the time that fashion and music was at its finest back then

Also worth mentioning that didn't make the list was

owning "Air Jordans" shoes was so important back then and people was ready to fight if you stepped on them

Funny how things like these go out of fashion so quickly-- Try wearing the clothing articles mentioned, go out to a public mall. Don't be surprised of you're called a 'fag'.

Jeez, I rememebr how cool I thought I was when I wore my MC Hammer pants.... remember the baggy pants with the LOOOOOWWWW crotch? I even made some in sewing class out of crushed velvet.... and I could NEVER miss the Arsenio Hall show or I thought I would die. I must admit though, I periodically still love to "flash back" with Bell Biv Devoe.... lol

I either did or know people who did all those things. Heck, in sewing class the teacher let us make bermuda shorts because they were so 'in.'

Yeah, i had Hammer pants, too. I couldn't do the dance, though.

I'm surprised noone mentioned jelly shoes. Maybe that's an 80's thing, though?

Hey, and everyone knows the kid who got sent home from school for wearing the For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge (FUCK) shirt!

Back when Mark Wahlberg was Marky Mark
This is how we used to make the party start
We used to mix in with Bacardi Dark
And when it kicks in you can hardly talk
And by the sixth gin you gon' probably crawl
And you'll be sick then and you'll probably barf
And my prediction is you gon' probably fall
Either somewhere in the lobby or the hallway wall
And everything's spinnin'
You're beginning to think women are swimmin in pink linen
Again in the sink
Then in a couple of minutes that bottle of Guinness is finished
You are now allowed to officially slap bitches
You have the right to remain violent and start wildin'
Start a fight with the same guy that was smart eyein' you
Get in the car and start it and start drivin
Over the island and cause a 42 car pile up

Am I the only one who automatically thought of Donatella Versace and Leonardo DiCaprio on that first one (instead of the Ninja Turtles)? And I was definitely a teen in the 90's.

All the others I relate to though...LOL. I used to love NKOTB and Marky Mark.

I'm a total 80's nut, too. I have tons of those 80's music collection CD's and I collect scratch-n-sniff stickers and Strawberry Shortcake minis (they still smell!)

Here are some of my favorite things from the 80's:

1. Scratch-n-sniff stickers. I have a MASSIVE collection. My favorite stickers are Trend (popcorn, skunk and pizza are some favorites), Mello Smello (I LOVE the jelly bean ones!) and Gordy International (especially Apple Pie, Spaghetti and Bakery).

2. The clothes! (Yes, I freely admit I loved them and I buy old 1985-1990 'Teen and Seventeen magazines off eBay just to see them again!)

3. Hightop Reebok Freestyles in colors like red (my fave), blue and purple, and pastels.

4. The TV Shows. I watch Nick and Nite religiously. Heh. I wish they'd put The Facts of Life back on and I wish they'd have Silver Spoons and a few others.

5. Cabbage Patch Kids. (Yeah, they were ugly, but I loved them. Parents couldn't afford them so I bought one off eBay a couple of years ago)

6. Swatch Watches (My grandfather bought me a Vasilly for Christmas. I REALLY wanted a McGregor but I didn't want to hurt his feelings. I had two Swatch Guard Too's twisted together on it... pink and white.)

7. The movies! I love (and still watch all the time) The Breakfast Club, 16 Candles, Pretty in Pink, Valley Girl, Gremlins, The Goonies... the list goes on.

8. The MUSIC! This one should have been further up on the list. My FAVORITE 80's song is Rock Me, Amadeus by Falco. They used to play that at the roller rink every week and I still dream of learning to roller skate to it. My parents (remember, they were poor, LOL) were afraid I'd break my leg skating and cause them to have a huge hostpial bill and we didn't have insurance)

9. Jelly bracelets (I wish I could find some VINTAGE 80's ones on eBay. Now it's new ones and the colors are different.)

10. Jelly shoes. Had a bunch of them, they were cheap!

11. Plastic charm necklaces. I had one, but it didn't have many charms. I now have a nice collection via eBay (can you tell I like auctions now?) and I have about 150 charms. I still need a toilet bowl charm but I have several baby bottles, which were my favorite charm.

12. Pac-man scratch off game cards and stickers. My friends and I LOVED these things. The stickers went all over everything I had and the scratch-off games were SO much fun!

13. Garbage Pail Kids. My parents hated these but my grandfather bought a few packs for me anyway. Hehe.

14. Plastic sunglasses that looked like vents. I couldn't see a thing when I wore them but I looked cool as hell! Mine were red. I haven't been able to find any of these anywhere!

15. Plastic coil bracelets. I bought some of the new ones off the big E but they're just not the same. I think they're skinnier than they used to be.

16. Stickers Magazine (later became Stickers & Stuff). Does anyone remember this? I have the first 11 issues in the closet.

17. Gummi Bears jewelry by Sugar Rush Bears. I SO wanted some of this but I could only find it for sale mailorder in magazines and my parents never got around to ordering it.

18. The cartoons. I miss the Smurfs, the Snorks, Monchichi, Kissyfur, Transformers, He-Man, She-Ra... oh lord, Saturday morning TV was pure HEAVEN back then!

19. The dances. It was so much more fun back then! Breakdancing was the coolest thing I'd ever seen done to music! (hey, I was just a kid at the time) LOL

20. The toys. There were so many I loved besides Cabbage Patch. Strawberry Shortcake, Teddy Ruxpin (no, he didn't scare me like he scared some kids!), Get in Shape, Girl!, Rubix Cube (and the link and pyramid, too), Transformers, Pound Puppies, Popples... OMG this list is embarrasingly long!

Well, I've got a kid wanting some food so I have to go, but this list would be HUGE if I had the time. I'm so crazy about the 80's.

The 90's were pretty cool, too, but I only had a few teen years to enjoy those. If you were a teen in the 90's, you gotta love those 80's!
