You owned a pair of K-Swiss, Keds, or Air Jordans. Keds, yes I did. 9.) You thought "Ice Ice Baby" was the coolest song ever, and when your parents told you Vanilla Ice would be a shot in the pan, you refused to believe them. I did a report on him in English class in 8th grade. I thought he was awesome. How could I be so gullible? 10.) Your bangs were at least 4 inches high, and you thought it looked good. 5 and a half inches, thank-you-very-much! 11.) You tryed to sing along to "Informer", no matter how hard it was. You gave the "peace" sign all the time. Yeah, in 1986. 50.) You loved Beavis and Butthead. They still rock hard. 51.) If you were a guy, you had an "undercut" and you parted it down the middle. A friend of mine (a girl) did. 52.)You owned at least one Hypercolor shirt. Yeah, but my mom spaced out and put it in the dryer after I only wore it once. Grr. Class of 93
life was so much fun in the late 80's early 90's I tell these youngin's all the time that fashion and music was at its finest back then Also worth mentioning that didn't make the list was owning "Air Jordans" shoes was so important back then and people was ready to fight if you stepped on them |
Funny how things like these go out of fashion so quickly-- Try wearing the clothing articles mentioned, go out to a public mall. Don't be surprised of you're called a 'fag'.
|
The 90's were only a few years ago so i think everybody remembers all that stuff. Very cool thou, nice time in my life. :)
|
That's hilarious. I can say I'm guilty of nearly all of those violations! Good one TDF!:1orglaugh
|
Most of that reminds me more of mid and late 80's then the 90's.
|
or those blinking la gear shoes! :1orglaugh
|
Jeez, I rememebr how cool I thought I was when I wore my MC Hammer pants.... remember the baggy pants with the LOOOOOWWWW crotch? I even made some in sewing class out of crushed velvet.... and I could NEVER miss the Arsenio Hall show or I thought I would die. I must admit though, I periodically still love to "flash back" with Bell Biv Devoe.... lol

I can only say yes to 20 of those, and I was definitely a teenager in the 90s.

I either did or know people who did all those things. :) Heck, in sewing class the teacher let us make bermuda shorts because they were so 'in.' :)
Yeah, i had Hammer pants, too. I couldn't do the dance, though. :( I'm surprised noone mentioned jelly shoes. Maybe that's an 80's thing, though? Hey, and everyone knows the kid who got sent home from school for wearing the For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge (FUCK) shirt! :) |
Drakkar is still in style cologne!!! Couldnt go to the club without it. Coming from chicago and going to school with Bad Boy Bill and livin down the street from Julian Jumpin Perez was the bomb:thumbsup
|
Back when Mark Wahlberg was Marky Mark
This is how we used to make the party start We used to mix in with Bacardi Dark And when it kicks in you can hardly talk And by the sixth gin you gon' probably crawl And you'll be sick then and you'll probably barf And my prediction is you gon' probably fall Either somewhere in the lobby or the hallway wall And everything's spinnin' You're beginning to think women are swimmin in pink linen Again in the sink Then in a couple of minutes that bottle of Guinness is finished You are now allowed to officially slap bitches You have the right to remain violent and start wildin' Start a fight with the same guy that was smart eyein' you Get in the car and start it and start drivin Over the island and cause a 42 car pile up |
spin doctors were the shit
still are |
Am I the only one who automatically thought of Donatella Versace and Leonardo DiCaprio on that first one (instead of the Ninja Turtles)? And I was definitely a teen in the 90's.
All the others I relate to though...LOL. I used to love NKOTB and Marky Mark. |
la gears..hahahah

I'm a total 80's nut, too. I have tons of those 80's music collection CD's and I collect scratch-n-sniff stickers and Strawberry Shortcake minis (they still smell!)
Here are some of my favorite things from the 80's: 1. Scratch-n-sniff stickers. I have a MASSIVE collection. My favorite stickers are Trend (popcorn, skunk and pizza are some favorites), Mello Smello (I LOVE the jelly bean ones!) and Gordy International (especially Apple Pie, Spaghetti and Bakery). 2. The clothes! (Yes, I freely admit I loved them and I buy old 1985-1990 'Teen and Seventeen magazines off eBay just to see them again!) 3. Hightop Reebok Freestyles in colors like red (my fave), blue and purple, and pastels. 4. The TV Shows. I watch Nick and Nite religiously. Heh. I wish they'd put The Facts of Life back on and I wish they'd have Silver Spoons and a few others. 5. Cabbage Patch Kids. (Yeah, they were ugly, but I loved them. Parents couldn't afford them so I bought one off eBay a couple of years ago) 6. Swatch Watches (My grandfather bought me a Vasilly for Christmas. I REALLY wanted a McGregor but I didn't want to hurt his feelings. I had two Swatch Guard Too's twisted together on it... pink and white.) 7. The movies! I love (and still watch all the time) The Breakfast Club, 16 Candles, Pretty in Pink, Valley Girl, Gremlins, The Goonies... the list goes on. 8. The MUSIC! This one should have been further up on the list. :) My FAVORITE 80's song is Rock Me, Amadeus by Falco. They used to play that at the roller rink every week and I still dream of learning to roller skate to it. My parents (remember, they were poor, LOL) were afraid I'd break my leg skating and cause them to have a huge hostpial bill and we didn't have insurance) 9. Jelly bracelets (I wish I could find some VINTAGE 80's ones on eBay. Now it's new ones and the colors are different.) 10. Jelly shoes. Had a bunch of them, they were cheap! 11. Plastic charm necklaces. I had one, but it didn't have many charms. I now have a nice collection via eBay (can you tell I like auctions now?) and I have about 150 charms. I still need a toilet bowl charm but I have several baby bottles, which were my favorite charm. 12. Pac-man scratch off game cards and stickers. My friends and I LOVED these things. The stickers went all over everything I had and the scratch-off games were SO much fun! 13. Garbage Pail Kids. My parents hated these but my grandfather bought a few packs for me anyway. Hehe. 14. Plastic sunglasses that looked like vents. I couldn't see a thing when I wore them but I looked cool as hell! Mine were red. I haven't been able to find any of these anywhere! 15. Plastic coil bracelets. I bought some of the new ones off the big E but they're just not the same. I think they're skinnier than they used to be. 16. Stickers Magazine (later became Stickers & Stuff). Does anyone remember this? I have the first 11 issues in the closet. 17. Gummi Bears jewelry by Sugar Rush Bears. I SO wanted some of this but I could only find it for sale mailorder in magazines and my parents never got around to ordering it. 18. The cartoons. I miss the Smurfs, the Snorks, Monchichi, Kissyfur, Transformers, He-Man, She-Ra... oh lord, Saturday morning TV was pure HEAVEN back then! 19. The dances. It was so much more fun back then! Breakdancing was the coolest thing I'd ever seen done to music! (hey, I was just a kid at the time) LOL 20. The toys. There were so many I loved besides Cabbage Patch. Strawberry Shortcake, Teddy Ruxpin (no, he didn't scare me like he scared some kids!), Get in Shape, Girl!, Rubix Cube (and the link and pyramid, too), Transformers, Pound Puppies, Popples... OMG this list is embarrasingly long! Well, I've got a kid wanting some food so I have to go, but this list would be HUGE if I had the time. I'm so crazy about the 80's. :) The 90's were pretty cool, too, but I only had a few teen years to enjoy those. If you were a teen in the 90's, you gotta love those 80's! |
