#2 It's all over the TV and print
#3 He was named after a city in Japan (he doesn't have the exclusive rights to the name Kobe)

I think you're pretty safe with that.
It would be tough to have a claim against you but do keep in
mind that if you had Kmartsex.com you would not get away with
that. If you do get contacted by Kobe's people then I say you should take it seriously though because Spike Lee did make a claim against Spike TV and they bent.
If you get any shit about it just take it down because most claims end at that point. So go for it until someone starts shouting.

I don't think TNT/Spike TV bent. I think Spike dumbass Lee bent. When the judge took a better look at the case and realized the damages Spike's most likely baseless claim was causing the network, he ordered Lee to put up another $2.5mil bond to continue the suit. Lee suddenly "settled" the suit within hours. He had no case and was costing a major company millions in damages... he's lucky he backed down when he did instead of getting bankrupted by it.
