I've been blacklisted...
No, not by some tgp or linklist or whatever. I've actually been blacklisted by some company that maintains a blacklist for dozens or even hundreds of companies worldwide with regards to "unreliable customers". In other words, all of a sudden lots of (mainstream) companies refuse to do business with me.
Funny thing is that I have never in my life missed any payments to any company whatsoever (as far as I know I've never even gotten a second notice on any payment), I've never made any loans, never had any debts, don't have a criminal record, have never charged back any payments... not a single thing that would cause companies to not want to do business with me. The only possible reason I can see for this is that the people living in my house before me were a bunch of criminals who, judging by the amount and type of mail that gets sent to them at this address, didn't notify anyone when they moved. That includes banks, the tax agency, phone companies, debt collection agencies, etc. So does anyone have any experience with this type of problem? I guess I'll have to talk to the blacklist company, but I'm afraid it'll take a whole lot of convincing before they believe the criminals don't live here anymore (about 12 "former inhabitants" still get their mail sent to my address, and since the house really isn't that big my guess is that they actually made people up for fraud and such).

I've never heard of a blacklisted address.
What service were you trying to get that denied you?

Phone company.
In their letter it said it was based on either personal or address information, so it seems to me that it would be the latter of those.

letter?
Do you live in the US? Here in Texas they process requests for new service based solely on SSN # And they do it over the phone so you know if you are denied or accepted when you place the order.

Nope, don't live in the US, and didn't have to supply my SOFI # (something kinda like a SSN #).

They do that here in the USA too..
If you leave a bank account, checking, and it goes negative.. there is some service.. that makes it impossible to get another account.. and of course.. there is TRW.. I wish there was one for webmasters..haha

You're in the Netherlands, yep.
When I was living there, the phone company made me give them a deposit, which they held for a year before giving it back.

Giving a deposit wouldn't be a problem. Paying the subscription two years in advance wouldn't be either. However, it seems that neither of those is an option. Even worse, after a bit of research I just found out that they also block based on a part of the postal code. Since I share that with a few hundred people in something that might be considered a ghetto, I think that my chances of escaping the blacklist while living here are slim to non-existent.
Now I know how honest russian webmasters feel...

Thats what we here in the US call bad credit history,
If i had a problem like you in the US then i'd request my credit history from the top 3 companies and find out exactly what the problem was and get it corrected Identity theft happens all the time |
