okay my answer...I came in half way through this on a film channel and had to find it again to see if it really was that weird.

Schizopolis - directed by Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, etc)

It really is hard to explain but at some points they talk backwards and in a large portion everything is opposite from what society normally has things. As a BBW I liked part of it when large women are being chased as they are now societies idea of beauty. It was really weird.

ADL Colin 07-17-2003 02:54 AM

Jacob's Ladder. A great "weird" movie. Dunno if i'd say it is the weirdest though.

slackologist 07-17-2003 03:34 AM

Probably Naked Lunch.

rippedoff 07-17-2003 03:34 AM

Check out "A Clockwork Orange" by Stanley Kubrick

Ketadream 07-17-2003 03:37 AM

Jacobs was great, one of my all time favorite horror/suspense that turned out not to be horror/suspense at all...

Run Lola Run was fun, I watched it all in whatever language it was originaly done in with subtitles cause i did not know my DVD allowed me to change languages...

Donnie Darko was fun, but not in the same legue... I also felt they tied it all together odd, and what was the deal with the motovational speaker thing being a child molestor, that was absolutly out of place and seemed odd as hell when you look over the entire movie...

Eraserhead, MMMMMM watch it in the pitch dark while eating chicken for the full effect...

Magnolia was worth it just to hear Tom Cruise say "RESPECT THE COCK"

Am I the only person on the planet that felt let down with "A clockwork orange" after some of kubriks other films?

Shit anything written by boroughs had to be weird...

hehehehe the name of my mainstream company is "Interzone Productions" where not buroughs fans no never...

German.

I didn't know there was a dubbed version but god never watch dubbed versions - they suck and ruin the movie.

If the movie is good you won't care about subtitles.

Sarah_Jayne 07-17-2003 06:28 AM

Series 7: The Contenders

was kind of weird too

Memento as well

Phoenix 07-17-2003 06:35 AM

RyanL 07-17-2003 07:35 AM

The weirdest movie I've ever seen was Moulin Rouge

sherie 07-17-2003 07:47 AM

I would have to say these were some pretty wierd movies;

Magnolia (raining frogs)
The Wall (teachers in the blender)
Jacobs Ladder (messed up)
A Clock Work Orange (on acid at like 15 eek)
Being John Malkovich (Strange flick fo sho)

scoreman 07-17-2003 08:12 AM

Check out
Bio-Zombie

Kolargol 07-17-2003 08:14 AM

Naked Lunch - quite a fucked up film...

wonton 07-17-2003 09:14 AM

The wierdest movie of all time is:

ZARDOZ

Starring Sean Connery in diapers. It's a science fiction film from the 70s directed by John Boorman (Excalibur). It's as wierd as wierd can be. It starts off with a giant stone head that floats down from the sky and spits out rifles and chants,

"The penis is evil. The penis shoots seed. The gun is good. The gun shoots death."

and from there a bunch of really wierd shit happens. I love it.

Eraserhead is also up there in the wierdness factor but I place Zardoz above it only because Z was a "mainstream" film shot on a real budget.

Ketadream 07-17-2003 09:25 AM

OMG ZARDOZ..

The worst Science fiction movie EVER made...
How much you want to bet that Sean wish's he could buy every copy of that movie and destroy it.

Its a laugh riot for cheese...The giant stone head is totaly out there...

Tera 07-17-2003 09:31 AM

Tommy - The Who
Crash - fucking wacked out - David Kronenburg

Good thread.. gave me ideas on what to rent, I love wierd movies

sherie 07-17-2003 09:33 AM

Bulldog-Johnnie 07-17-2003 10:27 AM

Nothing is weirder than real life.

Check out "Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer"

Bulldog-Johnnie 07-17-2003 10:29 AM

If Henry doesn't weird you out "Redneck Zombies" surely will-

Porn2Rock 07-17-2003 10:36 AM

Another vote for "Eraserhead"

I like strange movies, but that thing really freaked me out!

And here's an obscure one many of you may be too young to know about:

"Head" starring The Monkees.

This is their mind on drugs!! LOL

Nismo 07-17-2003 10:40 AM

Lane 07-17-2003 10:47 AM

Memento was kinda weird too

Zebra 07-17-2003 10:48 AM

Brazil
UHF
Amelie
Ice Pirates
Humanoids From the Deep

Gel 07-17-2003 10:52 AM

Buckaroo Bonzai is the best.

Good call Nina.

"Laugha while you can monkey boy" - Lord John Worfen

TampaJim 07-17-2003 10:57 AM

That Buckaroo Bonzai promo brings back some memories.

I had some of my very first porn movies on a vhs tape that I labeled:

"Buckaroo Banzai" and "Pale Rider"

A Swedish Eritica Seka movie and Buttman's Ultimate Workout were actually on the tape.

I wish I still had it.:(
