Why do you live where you live?
Just curious....
had an amazing afternoon on the beach and it only reaffirmed how much I love this place. But it got me to wondering, why do people live where they live? There's basically four reasons. 1. Family. 2. Money (i.e. job) 3. Destitute / broke / can't escape. 4. You love it. did I miss any? And what's your reason?

IF that's really the case..... are you sure you're not just using "lazy" as an excuse because of some family ties you can't bring yourself to break (or some other reason)?

my mama lives here...If she would be willing to move with me, I'd leave in a heartbeat.....
I just can't leave my momma....There's plenty of hoes around here to help feed me and the job situation around here is bleak...So I just exploit girls and help out my mom....

I look at my brother, who will never leave where he's at... he has a combo of loving it and STRONG family ties... and yet, I can't help but think him insane on both counts.
I find it very interesting how people make these decisions.

I am sure that COULD be a possibility but I could not really say... I think I make enough for a good living... but then on the other hand my GF has a good job that I would not want her to give up on right now... aswell there is some family that is close to this location... So I guess your theory could have truth... but I think that would require thinking to see if that WAS the case so again I will go back to I am to Lazy! ![]() |

I live where I am cause I moved here and made a great living for myself while I was young. It was a great opportunity that I am glad I could take advatage of. Now I am done with this town and looking to move onto a more progressive area. So my house is on the market and I am moving to Vegas. I can't wait.

Marcus, you'd better redo your homework. A hurricane 500 miles from you can and do spawn (dozens of) tornadoes right in your lap. lol Go to the weather page from the US Government and study their archives.
There are other reasons for staying someplace too. Like divorce screws your ability to buy a house when you get on in your 30's. So it takes time and stability in one place to rebuild that. And always being in one area can affect your thinking too.

My family moved here. It was something my mom's side of the family had been planning for years. Now we're all here (Brisbane, Australia). I plan on staying here though. Got a few good friends and i enjoy it here.

Not really Amp. We had the wherewithal to move to begin with but his kids were both under 18 and we thought we should stay closer to them. So meantime we straighten out the divorce thing and then when his daughter hits 18 we head south to live a couple of hours from MY daughter who was already 18 when the old man and I hooked up.
We have the house and fairly close to having a total remodel done and paid off. ;-) So when we go, it will be with enough cash to pay for another house up front. Besides the fact that we have everything either of us could or want to do within an hour of us. All the big music groups pass thru here too. Unemployment rarely goes over about 2.5%, reasonable cost of living, you name it.

I live here for many reasons..
My parents and brother live nearby, but my extended family is all in the South. The cost of living is tolerable. I'm an hour from the mountains and about 75 minutes from the Pacific Ocean. I enjoy the climate. Not too hot and not too cold.

I'm fuckin stuck. I hate this place, and as soon as I get a niofty amount of cash saved up (which will probably be about the same time I get my degree) I'm OUT of here. |

We live in AZ primarily for my husband's job...he got a really good job offer, and it was high time we left Texas, so we went. The fact that it puts us 1000's of miles away from family -- both mine and his -- is wonderful. Families like ours are best loved from a LOOONG distance.
I'm not thrilled with the heat, but it doesn't matter to me where we live, really, as long as it's not a big city. I'm agoraphobic, so it matters not what the world outside looks like, my world is what's inside my apartment walls.
