We all know payout rates are about to drop, will hosting and designe rates restructure to these ever changing times?

I don't think design pricing can get much cheaper. Lots of foreign designers who can afford to cut their prices already have...forcing those who really shouldn't be cutting their prices to do so.
I've seen people pushing cheap paysite designs for $200. Doesn't get much cheaper than that. |

No in fact it could go up as people pay a premium for new designs that convert without all the FREE FREE stuff in the pitch.

Europe is probably more expensive than US, and also USD is being so low I see only rising prices from foreign designers. There's newbie designers everywhere, probably more in the US than elsewhere. But this is just a quick point, I haven't thought about this. I might be wrong.

Its all supply and demand. If prices keep dropping quality and service will certainly drop, the people who dont mind the drop in quality and services will pay less, while those that can't stand the drop in quality wont mind paying extra. I mean in th elast couple of months what has really happened that has knocked design prices down greatly. As for hosting prices I think if anything they will probably rise just because prior to this they have been falling, they are just about bottomed out and the result is that a lot of hosting is having problems, poor support, poor uptime, so the people that need support and up time pay a little extra.

Hosting and design prices are already at all time lows....I don't see them dropping.
Bottom line is your margins will probably be thinner with the lower payouts. You might make up for it with volume, and then again you might not. Time will tell. What will drop is the price of traffic. Everyone paying per click from the SE's is going to experience the same drop in payouts so they'll all have to drop their bids on keywords to a lower per click price. Also paid listings on TGP's should become less expensive IMO. There will be a lot of changes in ALL parts of this business over the next 6 months or so, this isn't just going to affect the big boys.

Content supplyers and designers are charging as low as it can get already - I don't think it will get much lower -
The new Visa regs are not going to make us all poorer - I am certain it will revive the industry - If free joins are forced out - And cross sales follow suit, then surfer confidence will come back and he will start joining sites again. Many potential members are keeping the cc cards in their ass pockets because they end up paying a fair old whack for what was initially a free join - And as he has been cross-sold to other sites (often without fully realising it), also, he now has his email box jammed full with daily spam, then it is hardly surprising the growth rate of this industry has grown considerable less than all forcasts expected. This industry should be self regulating - Unfortunately, greed gets in the way of logic.
