What is your address? Im going to buy the houses that surround you.

House 1 I will live in. On the front lawn I will have 7 beat up cars on blocks. Every night about 7, I am going to pull out my sanders, saws, etc and just go to town on those cars. No real purpose, just beause I feel like it.

House 2, the house that is closest to the one you live in, I will open up a brothel. $5 per hour is what I will charge. The girls I hire won't be worth $5 per hour so pretty much homeless and junkies will be my customer base.

House 3 will be a clinic for recovering heroin addicts where they will come all day, every day to get their shots. It might get a bit crowded so I hope you won't mind if the waiting room overflow spills out onto your lawn.

House 4 will be a halfway house that will deal with only the most violent offenders who have either served their time and need help readjusting to society or are there as part of some court ordered parole program.

Please post your address and directions. I have my bank on the phone right now and have already been approved for the mortgages. Im anxious to get started.

All of that shit would violate the rules of the home owners association and most violate local zoning laws. You'd be history in no time. What Gregg is doing can't be considered as a violation of zoning laws since there is no impact on traffic in the neighborhood, which is why such zoning laws exist. What it boils down to is the neighborhood and police trying to tell them what to do in the comfort of their own home.

If there were 20 cars lining the street and they were shooting on the roof or the front yard, I could understand but that isn't the case.

No no no..I'm sorry, you didn't read Nike's law properly. There is not much room for interpretation in Nike's law:

"Fuck it, if he has got enough private land around him, he should be able to do what the fuck he likes."

I should be able to do what the fuck I like and I should tell the homeowners association to fuck off.

Gregg said he interviews models daily, I would assume he shoots at least half as often as that, or close. You don't see impact there? Look again.

As for your statement that what Gregg is doing can't be considered a violation of local zoning laws because there is no impact on traffic is just 100% wrong. It IS a violation of local zoning laws. If he wants to challenge those laws, he can, but as it stands RIGHT NOW, it IS a violation. There is more to zoning laws than simply traffic impact.

''We all had a gut feeling something was wrong,'' said Suzi Margolin, who lives at the end of the street and has two sons ages 10 and 8. ``I don't let my kids walk over there anymore. . .I don't want to explain to my 8-year-old or 10-year-old what pornography is.''

this is great lol

foe 07-11-2003 10:16 AM

The case will be brought before the town's special master on Aug. 12, Poliakoff said. Such offenses carry a fine as high as $250 per violation.

No, actually that IS all there is to zoning laws regarding "home offices". I have another business that is run from my partners house. We checked into local zoning laws before we did it. Nice try though. What is considered "excessive traffic" is obviously open to interpretation though.

2. This wasnt a home office. This was a hardcore pornography studio. They were doing more than stapling and filing.

But isn't this *going to be* the case during Internext, when they'll be renting out the studios to photographers, having Kitty come through doing exclusive content shoots, and having "tons of girls on hand" to get whatever content you need done?
I can imagine there will be a *lot* of cars and people milling around those 4 days.

It doesn't matter how big you type "WRONG". You are wrong. Do some reading. The law makes no distinctions as to what type of activities are illegal in your home business. This qualifies as a home office, like it or not.

So you can't entertain a few guests on a special occasion? I find it highly unlikely anyone will be shut down for anything that hasn't happened yet. Even if they do have a house full of people, they will have to prove that it's related to business which will be impossible for them to do.

Dax 07-11-2003 11:34 AM

ok... So.. for those who say the running a buisness inside his house....

If he runs his busines and does not allow anyone to be on the outside.. so nobody has an idea of what is he doing.. is wrong..

So what if he was to throw a party every other day.. no business going.. just about 200 girls/guys showing off in very very skimpy outfits.. So is that ok.. to do.. as long as is done between 4 pm and 10 pm..

So what happens there? I mean.. parties are not illegal.. and as long as the girls/guys are not naked.. they can wear w/e small piece of clothing they want.... so that should be ok right?

Gregg wish u the best of luck in this!

You are WRONG.

May I purchase the house directly next to yours and open up my home based fertilizer plant? There will be a total of 5 employees, all of whom will live on the premises.

Would it be ok in your town if I purchased the house next to yours and opened a home based nuclear testing facility? There will be a total of 5 employees, all of whom will live on the premises.

Zoning laws are about more than simply traffic. Get a clue. Even in commercially zoned areas there are restrictions on what you can and cannot do.

some replies are pretty stupid.. gregg from what i understand had a regular looking house but had girls coming to it and shot shit INSIDE and not on the front lawn with a big sign saying kids get in free.

It was personal property with private matters taking place which was not made known to the public nor intended to be made to the public.
But now the public has been made aware and all the stupid people starting saying their stupid stuff not knowning what actually is/was going on so they make assumptions and tell everyone their bullshit.

Thanks DAX...no problems, our landlord has 50 more houses and is personally getting way interested in going overboard to help us with this.

Just to clear up things:

We didn't invite the cops inside...one cop came to "check out the property for a stolen atv that was seen in our back yard". One cop checked our back yard, then started asking for everyone's ID....went downhill from there...6 cop cars, and a few mean ones pushing their power.

We didn't even get a ticket because at the time we were'nt shooting and no business was being operating.

I wasn't arrested, fined or cited.

and one last thing...I need input from the folks on the board....is JMM really that stupid of a mother fucker? Reading his posts is cracking me up :)

Ahh..I see we have come to the point in the conversation where you have run out of anything of substance to say and have resorted to calling me a stupid motherfucker. Then again, this is GFY and we are on the second page of the thread which means it took longer than usual.

I do not believe that producing hardcore pornography in a residential neighborhood on a regular basis is right, legal, or proper. If that makes me a stupid motherfucker, then send the hat. It is one that I will wear proudly. I'm in the business, and if you did it in my neighborhood, I would run you out as well.

For the sake of argument, lets just assume that 99% of the GFY'ers agree with you, re: me being a stupid motherfucker. I consider that a compliment.

If you want to be a legit producer, get a studio in an industrial area, where it is legal. You have no business running a hardcore porn studio next to kids like Lightspeed used to do. IMHO, you should face criminal charges for such stupidity.

And we all sit here and wonder why people despise us and our industry so much.

this is getting funny.

Brad, I moved from a 5000 foot warehouse because a house is better for our customers needs. A house with 3 acres of private back yard works for our many customers that do well with outdoor content. This isn't the first or last time I'll get a little heat for what I do.

Unfortunately, everything we do, everywhere we do it, is marginal with local law enforcement codes. Your fuck a billionaire site...do your producers buy permits for every outdoor location they shoot at as required by law...of course not...you go with the flow and get what you need and weigh the risks.

As for your comment "if you want to be a legitimate producer"
all I can say is we produce for companies doing far better than you are...they are happy with our work because the sites convert and retain.

Thats biz Brad...convert and retain...when you're ready for a "real producer" for a some quality work...talk to me at Internext. Yeah, I push the limits to get our customers some awesome product and I'm going to keep doing it.

You are totally clueless, aren't you? We're not talking about nuclear facilities. We're talking about a few people making smut in a house. A regular 'ol house. No signs, no driveway and street full of cars, no nuclear reactor. If you want to move into my neighborhood and start producing porn in your living room, there isn't a damned thing the home owners association or city can do about it. It's a home based business that does not violate any laws.

I don't care what my neighbors like. What I do in my house isn't up to them. Don't like seeing people fucking? Don't come over. Don't try to pretend it's a violation of law. It isn't. Solution: move to a new location, new sets, new variety of content for our customers. My neighbors had no idea of what we were doing because we shoot inside the house and in a very private 3 acre backyard with security gates and privacy fences. Our backyard is is 200 yards from the street and we've done "scream"sound checks to see if any noise can be detected...none.

Anyway, I'll probably move 1-2 times a year for the rest of my life...reason: produce great quality content, provide constantly changing and unique locations for our customers. After 5 years of producing for the big boys in the biz...this is part of my biz.

Why? What we're doing is quite legal, even the officer said so. The only issue is whether we're licensed for it and if I wanted to spend the money I could fight it in the courts and get the license. I got better things to do with my money.

We're in the middle of 7.5 acres of wooded property (Gregg has it wrong). If there is any impact on the neighbors when we're shooting I'd be amazed. We picked this place for just that reason.

If JMM is one of the smartest fuckers you know, that doesn't say a whole lot for your associates. JMM thinks he 's a wit, he's only half right.
