Backup processor... worth it?

I use Globill for 2 sites, and am (mostly) happy. But they do scrub off a small but annoying number of legitimate customers.

I know because I receive a few emails a week from embarassed and annoyed customers, wanting to know why their cards were declined.

Most of the time you can tell they are legitimate and I give them my personal PayPal address and they send the money in.

So, I am at a stage where I (thought) I wanted a backup processor. I was just about to select CCBIll as a backup when the latest Visa shit hit the fan, but I haven't seen any posts by CCBill on the subject.

Any reason why I shouldn't have Globill & CCBill? I don't care about the $750, just 5 extra sales a week through the backup processor = $5,200/year.

If you register with CCBill it's not just the $750 you have to worry about. You will officially be "on the books" with Visa USA. So far that is the main difference between US and offshore processors.

Every time Visa USA cracks down, you will be caught in that net. You can get on the TMF if your chargebacks ever get out of whack and lose ALL Visa priveledges FOREVER under that URL. Even offshore processors won't take you if you get TMFed. So far, you don' t have to worry about that outside the US region if you are there exclusively.
