Singaport Airlines best for long travels?
IS Singaport Airlines best airline company for good comfort and entertainment(like own TV etc) ?
Or do you advice another one? LAst time I used US airlines, and the entertainment was terrible, and also very very old plane... Andre

I have traveled all around the world business and first class and I have flown with many airlines but I can only recommend few.
Singapore Air's first class is incredible but in my view too expensive if you can not redeem miles for the flight or upgrade. Its busines class is very good. I heard that they are replacing their business class seats now which will make them even better. I am flying Germany - Los Angeles back and forth close to every month and I can highly recommend KLM's world business class (top deck) for connections between Europe and the States. Very competitive pricing as well. My worst experience was flying First Class with Lufthansa .. as well as Delta's business class. From where to where do you want to fly ? Mike |

When I was a travel agent I never once had a complaint from a client I booked on Singapore Airlines. Totally topnotch from both the agent and the passanger side.
Virgin, I have had trouble with on the economy level. If you are going in the higher classes then they are good (and they have premium economy which some people did like) but normal passangers are packed in tight. KLM, again..not many complaints and the ones I did get were on shorthaul flights from London to Amsterdam in a period where they were losing luggage often. Don't overlook United either. They have had an overhaul of their transatlantic planes. I flew one of them last year and their entertainment system was great. They had a large selection of movies, and tv shows in various languages as well as video games that could be played on the seat back thingies. I was impressed. Strangely the best entertainment system I have had on a American carrier was US Airways. My folks are in Philly which is one of their hubs so I take them from time to time and not only were the staff very good and friendly but I liked the ability to stop and start movies at anytime I wanted to rather than having them all playing on loops. They stink on internal flights but transatlantic they are a sleeper hit ;) |

Take Singapore Airlines via Frankfurt or KLM via Amsterdam. Btw, it might be a LOT cheaper if you book the flight with a German travel agency.
I have no idea regarding economy class though. My recommendation: Forget about the entertaining system and take a nap .. ;) |

I've never flown with Singapore, but I've been told by many that they are the best.
I can say nice things about Japan Air & Malaysia Air - both had top notch service at good prices. And who can forget Qantas - they're pretty good, plus they've never crashed, 100% safety record

For superior service, food and entertainment - Singapore rocks.
Also good - Malaysia and Qantas (though not as good as years past) |

Singapore Airlines has the hottest flight attendants. Even in those floor length sarongs they are forced to wear, you can tell they have nice bodies. A friend of a friend of mine is a flight attendant with Singapore Airlines and she is a babe!
Most big US airlines have the worst looking flight attendants - the are old and overweight, that is due to the unions and the financial problems the airlines are facing. The FA's with seniority get to keep their jobs, while the nubile, fresh faced cuties are the last hired, first fired. |

I flew Singapore from Newark to Amsterdam; few airlines hold a candle to their level of service (note I didn't say no airlines). They are expensive, but yet they were the cheapest for this flight at the time. Their raffles class is good if you are blingin on a budget. Hell, even coach is decent... if you don't have long legs.

I took KLM for the first time ever last month from Amsterdam to Bucharest. I have to say that they really sucked. I have heard great things about them but I experienced none.
Their seats in the 737 were smaller than embraer seats. They were also closer together - I had to fold my legs under my seat to fit. Their flight attendants weren't good either, and the terminal people told me that my carryon was too big - even though it fits and it has made it 150,000 miles so far without being checked. They told me it was also too heavy as a carryon and it could fall out of the overhead bin. You should have seen the stupid look he gave me when I asked if his European Boeing 737's were really that much weaker than our American Boeing 737's. The hottest stewardesses I have ever seen were wearing KLM uniforms though, they were all hot tall blonde girls. But they were never on my flights. Also Martinique had hot chicks in bright red uniforms. I have heard really good things about Air Singapore from many people. I almost took them once from Newark to Amsterdam - they were the cheapest, but I don't have use for their miles so much - so I took Northwest instead. |

I've only used Singapore for a fairly short hop from HK to Taiwan but they were superb. Definately something I'd recommend and try to use again.
