Unable to uninstall/reinstall Internet Explorer.

I'm running Windows XP, and lately, my internet explorer has been buggy as fuck. Crashing whenever i click hyperlinks, or popups that open onclick.

So, i tried to uninstall it and reinstall it. Thing is, it doesn't even show up on the list of programs at the Add/Remove programs thing. And when i try and remove it as a windows component, i'm prompted to put in my "Messenger CD-ROM."

What the fuck?

Dude, no reinstall do a system restore that will restore your system the way it was before you installed/upgraded MSIE.
You can select any date that is available.

No good if you've made a lot of changes you want to keep since then. Re-intsall works fine. It doesn't touch any files other than the OS ones it considers buggered.
