I was driving down the street today and saw a car with Mexicans driving in it with a sticker on the back window that said, "Brown Pride" or "Brown Power" on or the other. And I started thinking, would it be considered racist if I put a sticker on my truck that said, "White Pride"? I know I would have people that would wanna kick my ass, but woud it?

i think it has to do with media. anyone that says white pride or says anything negative about another race is called racist.

Everyone is allowed to have pride but whites, and white blood is just getting more and more mixed.

I think you have to take into consideration how the two are viewed.

One as being proud of your ethnic background.

The other as being in some way superior to others races.

If it's being mixed with other races would that not mean they are also getting mixed? Also look at an African Negro, then an American Negro. See one is lighter than the other, or is it all right to mix races while one is a slave and the other a master?

Also how do you catagorise "Superior" Seen a non White President recently, or how many non white CEOs of Fortune 500 companies do you know of, or the number of white lawyers, doctors, bank managers against non whites?

I think in a lot of sports non whites have an edge, but is that because they are physically stronger or come from poor backgrounds and strive harder? A lot of the whites in the same sports come from the same backgrounds.

And this makes sense how? Even though minorities are more or less accepted to have this brown'/black pride thing, I personally think we'd be better of without it. Then again, that's kind of an utopia anyway, as long as a large group of people is racist, you're gonna have reactions to that saying white/asian/black/brown pride.

I don't feel any "pride" in the color of my skin anymore than I do for the color of my eyes or hair. Having pride in where your ancestors / parents are from is fine as long as your pride in the country you are now a citizen of is #1.

Yep, thats exactly how it is now. You cant be proud to be white because you'll be called a racist. But its ok for the other racial groups to be proud of thier color.

Its a double standard. Its pretty much ok for a black man to kill a white man, I mean its not ok, but it wont be called a hate crime. Only white people commit hate crimes. This is because only white people get charged with hate crimes. The hate crime issue is pretty much ignored when a black man kills a white man.

I'd wouldnt put "White Pride" on my vehicle, because some idiot of another color may vandalize it. But it will be ok because they probably wont be white. Now, it would be a whole other story if you vandalized that vehicle that said Brown Pride, because then it would be a hate crime.

white pride is so generic though. i'm irish, so i'd be going with the irish pride. because just saying white pride isn't to descriptive. but it's true, white people are really the only people who are slapped with hate crimes and such. but think of it this way, maybe that's one of (white peoples) stereotypes working against us? because we do kind of per perpetuate that sort of attitude. i could see any of these hate crimes laws being found un constitutional though if it ever came down to it. i mean unless there is overwhelming evidence, cross burning for a crude example, then how can you prove that the crime was motivated by a discriminatory attitude? and sometimes i think that the laws that are supposed to help make us equal are the same laws that lead to us feeling so different.

So "White Power" may seem like overstating a point, and therefore perhaps a little rascist.

Being a black man, I would say that having "White Pride" on your truck would make IGNORANT people believe you were racist. For those of us with some intelligence, it wouldn't really bother us. Pride in one's self and one's race is not a bad thing. Hell! I'm proud of your face for you. Being married to a white lady, people tell me that I've "sold out".
