seriously, make time, the best thing you can do for your child is show them the joy of reading. I don't mean to get preachy, I just know the wolrd that opened up to me when I started reading. By the time I was 11, I was reading books like "Serpico" and "The Exorcist" (not that I reomend those books for kids ;-))

In addition to fantasy, I love reading non-fiction as well, especially George Soros, Og Mandina and Ann Raynd. I also love a good Stephen King book and have troubles putting down anything by Micheal Crichton.

I used to have that problem of not having enough time reading, so I made an hour 3-4 nights per week, where the TV goes off, the computer monitor gets turned off and the kids and I all read for an hour, whether it's Harry Potter, the latest in the Dr. Seuss collection that I somehow subscribed too or even a good old Encyclopedia Brown mystery. Some nights we read to ourselves and other nights we'll have a designated reader read to the rest of us.

I cannot imagine anything more painful than having to read through a novel of that prepuescent rubbish.

Fiction irritates me unless it's something vaguely autobiographical like Charles Bukowski's stuff.

As a rule, I prefer non-fiction.

I have read all four books and found them to be very good. The fourth book is the one that I liked the best by far. The movies are also good but nowhere near the books. A lot has been left out.

I have been looking foward to reading the fifth book and will proably be one of those crazy people buying it at midnight

I will also admit to rereading all the books so that they are fresh in my mind as I read the fifth book

To all the haters

My copy arrived from Amazon this morning. Damn this book is huge for a children's book... It's like half as thick as it it wide.

I've read every one and had the 4th one FedEx'd to me the day it came out. My kid's working at Walmart this summer, so he got us both our own copies today.

As soon as I finish getting some work done and cleaning the porch (originally I was going to clean the whole downstairs...now it's just the porch - and only that because we're having dinner there tonight ) I'm headed outside to wonderful day and plopping my big butt down to spend the rest of the day with Harry!
