When i receive a msg, icq should be recording the ip somewhere. Is it possible to get the ip ?

Used to be a icq hack to get it but that was a few versions ago.

If u think about it -- ICQ doesn't have to give out the IP unless you are doing something P2P like realtime chat or file transfer...

So when i send a msg to you, it first goes to icq network and than to your computer? This would be much expensive to the icq bandwith wise. On the other hand, icq has a offline msg feature which have to work the way you explained. On the third hand icq used to show ip addresses of the people on details menu, i doubt it was getting the ip info from the icq server.
