Unless your looking to work in corporate america and a nice fancy office Micro$oft certificates are just pieces of paper with writing on them..
It's hard to find Micro$oft certified technicians that actually know what they are doing or talking about. Most employers want experience over certs. Some people won't even look at your certs. While other employers just downright won't hire you on the premise you have certs. Thats my ![]() Go ahead and flame me but ask around to other techs .... I have certs but they never did me any good ... my expierience is what sells me as a tech. |

I have to agree. So many people have Microsoft certifications that it doesn't help to have one.

They used to be worth quite a bit.
Before doing this I got my mct, mcsd, mcse. I started doing training and was making mad money at the time. Now I hear they are pretty useless, but they are still necessary to have if you want to move up the food chain. And if 2 people go to a tech job, with simliar experience, the certified one will usually get the job. When I stopped I believe I had 18 certs, at the time, you needed cert to be the trainer of the class. Chris

I was a manager for IT for years, I also have the following certs,
A+, MCSE + Internet and CCNA. The issue is if you don't have them on your resume, and you are going for a job and I see a guy with 5 years experience and the certs and a guy with 5 years and no certs, who do you think I will go with if the interviews both go well? The guy with the certs shows he is dedicated and serious in what he does, its an advantage no matter how you feel about it. I know guys with certs that know nothing and guys with certs who know everything, it just helps you get a foot in the door.

juicylinks.. you're right the hun doesnt require certs, but then again submitting to the hun doesnt require any skill or knowledge.. if you're happy in that position to be submitting galleries to someone else for the rest of your life then more power to you..
learn some real skills, dont be afraid to get extra education.. a chimpanzee can submit to the hun |
