Seriously people

This likewhoa shit is fucking mad annoying.

Stop the bullshit. You coulda backed up your shit on another hosting co's network for like $10 per month in most cases. You chose to be cheap and are paying the price. $10 isnt a lot of money...

So LWI bit the dust, its not really that big a deal except to the people that worked there. Stop the madness and posting!!!

sign up for a $10 virtual at another hosting company and put a backup of your site up there.

Then, your main host goes down, fire up the backup. Its not rocket science.

You should pickup the revised copy of porn webmastering for dummies book my friend.

There are those who can't host a 100k TGP on a 5GB $10/month virtual plan.

maybe I am taking your comment the wrong way... but a 100K tgp cant have more then 500mb disk space usage, right? I mean, a TGP doesnt really have shit for content. So, you have two copies of the content sitting on two separate hosting companies servers.

If one dies, you switch your dns and minimize downtime. Since you have a copy on another server, you dont even have to ftp the site to the new host.

To take further control, run your own dns - I think the url is ww.zoneedit.com or so. Then when your host goes down, you can change the IP to your backup host in minutes and lose almost no traffic.

Play smart and dont get fucked.

by saying 100k does that mean the file size of the html page + images OR 100k visitors a day?

#1 - it would explode the virtual $10 GB plan, so you should get an per GB instead or a virtual plan with cheap extra bandwidth

#2 - when you are running a site that isnt just html and images this cant be done like the way it was described. Databases changes every second. Traffic trading scripts are database based and most of big TGPs use them.

#1 - the $10 package is for your BACKUP... therefore, you wont blow UP the $10 account until your other host is down and you are making no money anyways. Besides, deal with a host that charges per GB and have them switch your plan when your other host dies and you will have no problems. I dont know a single host that wont let you switch your account to a higher usage plan ASAP - myself included.

#2 - a nightly backup of your mysql tables is a whole hell of a lot better then running on NOTHING, isnt it? Besides, not every site is a traffic trading site.

Next up?
