That wouldn't be concreate, there are ways to counter a lie detector test, and a LDT isn't always perfect.

He got the normal suspension, other players with corked bats got 10 day suspensions, so 8 days punishment is fair given precedent.

Pete Rose bet on babseball games (supposedly games he was managing, too)

If he admitted his giult in public, and agreed to not want to manage, he'd probably be in the hall already.

Pete Rose in the HOF is one thing - Pete Rose activly managing a MLB club is another. It's like setting off Roman Candles in a dynamite factory.

I grew up a huge Pete Rose fan - but they guy is a degenerate gambler, and he's got himself to blame for his problems

If he did, I could see Stern turning a blind eye (or covering it up). NBA money comes from TV, and #1 reason for ratings was MJ.

Not saying it's right, not saying it's fair. I'm also not saying Rose should be banned. I just think he shouldn't be allowed to manage, or be employed in MLB. Let him in the hall, just dont let him have any influence whatsoever in the outcome of a game.

Are the Jordan rumors concerning him betting on games he took place in? That would fall under fixing the outcome, or points shaving

I didn't say that they were not clean. Its just a bat with cork in it has no business near the playing field. Everything he has done up to this point is now tarnished. No matter what his excuse is.
