Linksys - Wtf $%@

Today my internet was slow as a fucker, So i logged into admin area of linksys wireless router and I checked out dhcp table and some fucker michael was connected to my computer... Its probably someone that lives next door or something.. How do i block off other people from connecting to my router( I have 3 pcs connected to it so far)

There is a password feature or something? or am i wrong?

Also on zone alarm, im getting 3 alerts like this every second-

The firewall has blocked Internet access to your computer (UDP Port 41170) from xxx.xx.xxx.xx (UDP Port 1100).

Time: 6/3/2003 10:34:38 PM

Any ideas?

You are saying someone jacked into your router?
I believe there is an option to encrypt your signal.

by setting up you're encryption read the instructions because every router is diffrent but it's pretty simple to do

I'm pretty sure crockett is right. Also, there may be an option to limit the # of computers that can connect to the router. Does it give you an option to drop him?

Number of DHCP users Enter the maximum number of PCs that will
require IP addresses assigned by the Router. No more than 253 computers
can be used. In order to determine the DHCP IP Address range, add the
starting IP address (e.g., 100) to the number of DHCP users. By default, as
shown in Figure 5-9, if you add 50 users, the range or IP Addresses will be
192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.149.
address(es) of the DNS currently used by the Router. Multiple DNS IP settings
are common. In most cases, the first available DNS entry is used.

then go into you're router and look for securty features... it's got to be in there.. I've never set it up on a linsky but all wireless routers have this... I think the 54g series may use something else.. but should be close... anyway there should be an option under securty to set up you're encryption tipically when you have 1 computer on the router using wireless it's turned on by defult..but sometimes with more than 1 PC it will get turned off.

Aside from enabling WEP, use a MAC address policy to restrict the adapters that can use your device.
