I'm not saying I buy it but teams with hitters like Sammy and McGwire when he was playing had thousands of people show up early to watch BP...so you never know. |
WOW...Sammy has broken hundreds of bats before and nothing in them.
They slice the ones open, they took tonight and nothing is in them. That doesn't prove that he cheats. They had Kline on for the Crads and he says alot of players use corked bats for batting practice. Especially pitchers. Then again, a corked bat only improves bat speed. They do not help with power. But, I bet ya..Sammy will never use another corked bat during exhibition or home run derbys. Big deal..doesn't prove that he used corked bats for any of his other HR's. |
I get the whole argument but i will have to say he is or was aspittin image of dave kingman. They fuckin swing at anything. he has tightened that up a bit. But combined with the roids he's great LOL:1orglaugh
|
Foolio, they did take all of his bats also.
I'm sure, we'll hear in a couple days the results of his other bats. If those other bats are clean..then he deserves the benifit of the doubt. He'll serve his suspention and come back swinging away, anyhow. |

If any of the other bats are corked then he should be shown the door like Rose.. If none of the rest are then give him his 7-10 days of rest and let him come back knowning if caught again he's done with baseball.
|
Baseball is boring, he should have used a bat with big metal spikes.
|
Foolio,
Actually no. I live here in Louisville, Ky. Home of Louisville Slugger Baseball Bat company. They talk about that in the factory when you take a tour. Also, you can here the words from the Louisville Sluggers mouth. __________________________________________________ __ Yet some question whether cork really does make the ball jump off the bat. "What it does is reduce weight, which produces quicker bat speeds," Chuck Schupp, an executive with Louisville Slugger, once said. "But it also reduces mass, so the bat doesn't drive the ball as far." Yale physics professor Robert Adair agreed. "A corked bat will increase bat speed but won't hit the ball as far," he said. "You also reduce the length of the sweet spot. How far you hit a ball depends on mass. ? At a given speed, a light bat won't hit a ball as far as a heavy one." Yale physics professor Robert Adair agreed. Read that here... http://chicagosports.chicagotribune....home-headlines __________________________________________________ __ Maybe the exec with Louisville Slugger is part of the Iraq regime. Don't take my word for it. Many people that are DEEP into baseball know this about bats. Besides, the bat weight is only gonna decrease by 1 once. Not like its 10 ounces or anything. |
I don't feel shit for him I hope he gets the worst possible deal from this. he's a fucking dickhead . Has anyone here ever met this asshole out of uniform? Just another highly paid pro athelete / celeb who is the complete opposite of what you see on the tube. Beware!

So, your saying the experts at Louisville Slugger bat factory are wrong?

Ive never liked the guy. Always thought he was an ego maniac asshole.
How much he has used a corked bat, who knows. He may have broke a lot of bats before, but usually a bat breaks off at the handle and the barrel isnt split open like yesterday. Baseball needs to clean up the league. Guys like Sosa and Bonds are obviously on some type of juice, and many others probably are too. |

he's not the 1st to have been caught with a corked bat,
corked bat, too much pine tar, roid's, is all the same |
I stopped loving pro baseball when they went on strike 10 years ago...

But serioulsy - if it does not help you hit homeruns then WHY is it banned in baseball? I wuld think the peep at MLB are DEEP in the game, hell they are the ones who run the shit. Shit, even Sammy HIMSELF said it was for BP - so he can hit longer homeruns to put on a show for his fans. A lighter bat will allow you to swing harder and faster - thus negating any negative effect the less mass the bat would have. It is a fact corked bats hit longer homeruns. |

For what I saw on ESPN last night with Showwatlter last year did a little clip on how to make a corked bat. The bat was just an ounce lighter. Plus looked like alot more work to make a corked bat. If Louisville Slugger makes bats. It would cost more to make a corked bat than a regular bat. Plus, they do NOT have that option..ya fucking retard. Plus the corked bat lessens the density of the bat. Thats coming from Louisville Slugger Bat factory and a Phyisics professor from Yale. Make some sense before you open your blow hole. Fucking Newbies...lmao God, they come into this biz with brass balls, like they know ALL...lmaoooooooooooo :1orglaugh |

lol, I see your reading skills are about as sharp as the hair on your ass. Read the next sentence I put after the part you quoted.. it starts out like this "But serioulsy -" So ya - go buy a clue on wheel of fortune you fuckhead :321GFY |
Most every baseball player has used a corked bat at some point - in batting practice. Most will tell you it makes a big difference.
As far as Sammy breaking a lot of bats in the past, that doesn't prove he wasn't cheating. Most of the time, the bat fractures somewhere along the handle area. The corked portion is only in the "sweet spot" near the top. Like last night, a bat would have to fracture up near the top to spot the modifications. |
Right Newbie.
How bout I let you suck my cock at the next show? Or will you be busy sucking others too? Come out to play with me when ya get alittle sharper and learn the ropes...lmaooooo :1orglaugh |
Loser!
This one is the best though! "Chicago's then Comiskey Park was the site of one of baseball's biggest corked bat capers in July 1994 when the bat of Belle, then with Cleveland, was confiscated. Umpires took it to their dressing room before an Indians teammate crawled across the ceiling and switched Belle's confiscated bat with one belonging to a teammate. Once the caper was discovered, the original bat was finally examined and Belle was suspended for 10 games, a penalty that was reduced to seven games." |
Sosa should be traded to the Mets now.... He would fit right in! :thumbsup
|
Nah...Sammy been pretty much cleared now.
ESPN just showed an hour special that started at 3pm and featured Sosa and his corked bat. Some Athentic Sport Mem. Co. down in Fla. was shown LIVE cutting open Sammys AUTHINIC 498 HR bat in 3 differnt places and showed NOTHING. Considering it being LIVE and a reputable company with the authinic bat of Sammys 498th HR. bat. I'm sure, once they slice open his other bats and see nothing in them. He'll be cleared. Thou, some people may always be suspicious, no matter if he, Bonds or any other ball player is clean or not. One thing that Bobby Valintine and Peter Gammons noted that back when Ruth played. There was nothing in the rule books about corked bats of any kind. So, its hard to say if even Ruth even used corked bats. Therefore, any other player out there. I think this is just an isolated incident and nothing more. The people with ESPN say the same thing. |
And checking an old bat clears him from last night how?
Perhaps it shows that he doesn't always cheat, but that's about it. |
Quote:
And the company who ruined that 498 bat was smart - they can now double its value... just think of how famous that bat is right now. But Sammy probally paid them off anyway :321GFY Ya, trade him to the mets - no better yet, the tigers, let him play for them, lol. |
Foolio,
You don't have a clue..do ya? The only reason the company cut up his bat is to help PROVE he is innocent. They also have a shit load of money invested in him. Among hundreds of other players. Also to get known nationally and FREE advertising. The bat that was cut up? Yeah, it wa bought by a major baseball card supplier that will shread the bat and place it in baseball cards like they do with game worn jerseys. Yeah...your intelligence shows how little you know about shit. Tell ya what. Come to internext and if ya promise to get new teeth between now and then and brush daily. I'll let ya suck my cock. We know, ya love the cock. Don't ya boy? |

Nothing proves he cheated intentionally.
Not a fucking thing. Sure, he had a bat used for batting practice. So do alot of other ball players around the league. Was all over ESPN today. Valintine even said sevarl of his players used them during batting practice to mess around with. They cut open Sosa 298th HR bat and showed not a fucking thing. They took ALL 78 of his bates from his locker last night and they ALL came back clean. There is NOTHING that proves he cheated intentionally. BTW..ya wanna talk cheater? I bet you NEVER did anything wrong, like cheating in any games, school or anything. Right? I bet you this. I bet there are far more pitchers our there that cheat than hitters..lol |
Oh, and Foolio.
When you learn to count and have any clue how many bats out there that hit HR 498. Gimme a holler. Also, obviously. Your don't have a fucking clue that authentic means. Look it up in the dictionary. Maybe your the one who needs to go back to Kindergarden. When ya grow some hair on your balls and become a man. Then come back and play with me. :1orglaugh |
Quote:
and no i don't cheat. i have used map hacks in starcraft when i played ladder because 95% of the people used map hacks and blizzard didn't do shit about it. it was a big reason why i stopped playing because it took the fun out of the game. |
Quote:
Cheater boy and gay boy? Could it really be??? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..... So he cheated - you just said so what.. so why are you crying like a little bitch over people saying he is a cheater? He *IS* a cheater - he used an bat that broke the rules - thus he is a cheater. Deal with it gay boy. |
Rightttt....
Come back and play with me bitch when ya become a man..lol You know..ya love the cock. |
lol

pete rose, how much money did he cost MLB corporation and its players? NONE Sosa, winning games with corked bats, publicity for his team, punking out the pitchers that had to pitch him those balls for him to hit out of the park, his baseball card values influxed, his team sold more merchandise to non-local people that could have been investing it into mcguire's gear or other heroes... think about it... what he did is FAR worse than what pete rose could have ever done or the extend he could have ever affected baseball and the MLB corporation.... FUCK SOSA, ship his ass back to his godforsaken little country... |

lmao.
The only corked bat was the one that split last night. He splits 3 or 4 bats a week and nothing ever been found. Split right down the middle and nothing. They checked his other 78 bats from his locker and nothing was found in them. They sliced up hiw 498th HR bat and nothing in it either. What makes you think, he cheats all the time? What makes you think he cheated just this once and on purpose? How did he do worst that Rose? Rose beat AGAINST his OWN team when he was managing it...lmao Oh..Foolio, Your below me..lol I don't have time to play with you anymore. I have MUCH BIGGER fish to play with. Btw..say hi to your dad..Mr. Larue for me. :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup |
still waiting for foolio to post something interesting or useful

I read this article and I for one believe it was a mistake. They test all of his bats (over 70 of them) even the ones in the Hall of Fame and None have any tampering.
The article also says that a corked bat does not help the ball travel more distance. In fact it normally will travel less distance. You could tell that every one that's a hater here never played organized baseball. It was a mistake none the less and he will pay for it with some type of suspension and fine as all the others in the past. http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports...-sosasbat.html |

if you can get a getter cut then you can hit the ball farther. why do you think people use them? |
