As the title says, I am wondering if affiliates still use Free Hosted Galleries (FHGs) or if they are an outdated marketing method these days.
With all the new Age Verification laws in some states / countries I can't see how an FHG could be age verified anyway, so are they a thing of the past now?

Yes, the problem is, many are shit due to errors, images that don’t load, thumbs that don’t related to the full sized image and other stupid issues that program owners should be checking on a somewhat regular basis.

I reached out to a couple of program owners a few months back to use their FHGs on Shemale TGP but the galleries they offer are useless, due to a mix of the errors above.

Was told to give it a few weeks… It’s now been a few months and they’re still fucked

Numerous US states, the UK, France, etc . . are all requiring this now.

I just assume that it's up to the person who uses the hosted galleries to make sure that they don't show them to anyone who is under the age of 18. So if they are posting some of your galleries on their site it's up to them to make sure they have age verification implemented.

no, it´s your content, your gallery, your page, so your need to AVS that page if it´s hosted on your sites...


either AVS must be applied to that page or clean images

at this day in age, sponsors should just post zips of the content. if an affiliate can't make an HTML gallery, they can watch a couple youtube videos.

hosting is dirt cheap. it takes more time to submit the gallery than build it.

so back to the OP, every sponsor who's still active should dump zip links to a page once a month.

and if i was an affiliate, i would grab content from the sponsor hosted galleries and make my own.

what's the traffic on FHGs? are there any 70 year olds rubbing out to galleries anymore? even my teen son said porn is free and boring.

i think we turned the corner on this thing about 5-6 years ago. the only paysites making money on PornCMS are hard-to-find fetish and gay.

and then the fucking billers make it hard for them to stay online. we just spent a fucking year dealing with this age verify bullshit. now fees are going up and approvals take months.

if you are a producer these days you better have something good and unique to sell or you can't make money.

Paysites are where new production appears - that is, non-solo girl/OF content. Yes some produce for clips only but there are still very large paysites out there shooting new content and satisfying affiliates with promo clips and FHGs.

They just don't use porncms so you wouldn't know about them.

for sure there's more producers not using porncms than using porncms.

maybe a handful of our sites still shoot. the majority live off rebills and their content library. my prices are cheap enough to make that easy.

there's still more than enough happy producers paying our bills for the last 18 years. my cms labor has averaged 2-3 hours of effort per week for many years.

how many hours per week of effort does your income cost?

side note - we earn a hell of a lot more in the markets, but we never withdraw it.

Small paysites are indeed over - UNLESS you go for the volume approach (which I do). But I also predict, with AVS and other legislation coming down the pike, that paysites will make a cumback (!) once most porn is behind a paywall. That is cumming...

facing reality is the only way to keep moving forward.

doing more "volume" of the same thing isn't going to convert to future success. the price per unit keeps dropping until there's no profit. (law of diminishing returns)

the only value i see - and mainly who i serve - is large fetish libraries. they typically own their fetish, but they have a very narrow audience. they just want a permanent online library. the biggest one i host is 73TB. maybe not huge but the cheapest price for that size library and replicated to a dozen media servers.

side note, the only porn i consume anymore is Reddit

We removed them 3 years ago and it had no impact at all on sales. Yes, we saw a drop in traffic, but it wasn't traffic that was converting.

After doing some checks on this I can confirm that you are right. I think what we will do is just remove all nude content in our galleries so just have safe for work hosted galleries. We'll have to lose a lot of galleries but that's no problem as I don't think affiliates use them anyway!
