Whats the one thing you changed that had the biggest influence on your health?

For me i'd say it was cutting out sugar, since the start of the year I quit smoking (cold turkey) and significantly started reducing the amount of sugar in my diet, to the point where right now im pretty much 100% sugar free.

I'm no longer feeling sluggish, have lost about 20lbs and have more energy and other than smoking, the only thing i can attribute it to is cutting out sugar.

Whats the one thing you've done that changed your health for the better?

Lost a tonne of weight this past year thanks to omad (one meal.a day) and keto.

Wasn't really a huge guy but am back to a size 32 for the first time in like 20 years!

Never a big drinker (strictly social) but trying to phase that out too.

Gave up soft drinks years ago.

Learned that the feeling of being hungry is okay, and that it's fine to skip meals. Many meals. Like multiple days worth of meals is actually good for you.

Lost almost 100lbs just on that alone.

I do hard workouts on an empty stomach, before noon...don't even eat afterwards...I don't start eating before 1PM mostly...nothing hard about it, just a little self-discipline.

Have been doing IF 8/16 (2pm-10pm) for 8 years now, just an easy lifehack for me (exceptions made on vacations and special occasions etc). Almost always do physical activity fasted.

Me, too. I even started doing my regular workouts during a 3 day water fast...and even on the 3rd day, my strength is normal, no fatigue whatsoever.

There's some things I could change like quitting weed and nicotine vapes. But I have great genetics and my ADHD keeps me physically active at all times so I've never had a weight problem and I look like I'm in my early 20's when I'm in my early 40's (except for a developing gray patch on my beard).

Might come back to bite me in the ass in the future, but as of now I'm going on just fine eating when I'm hungry, drinking when I'm thirsty and sensibly partying whenever I feel like it. Only workout I do is a morning run that I've been doing since I was in the military 20+ years ago. More of a comfort habit than anything else.

Sure, you can call me "soft" for actually enjoying the taste of my food, but organ meat has a flavour that tastes like... I can only describe as chemicals. I don't know a way other than "chemical" to describe it. I've ate deer, caribou, bear, crocodile, rabbit, and moose, and I dislike gamey flavours, but organ? Just tastes like a... soapy, chemical flavour. Like a mild toothpaste/eart flavour to me. I don't know how else to describe it other than an earthy, toothpaste taste. If you´re from Spain, Italy or France you´d think differently...

even the police stop at bars in the morning for a brandy coffee, a beer for lunch & a glass of wine for dinner.

Europeans always drink wine with lunch & a nice glass of cold beer when out in the bar.

Living until you´re 100 is good, i suppose why would we want to live until we´re 105.

Oh, I love the culture in Italy or Spain, been there many times...and I understand its nice to have a glass of wine with a good dinner sometimes...but having alcohol daily is not good and it wouldn't be even fun. Having a glass once or twice a week is no issue, but more than that, I am not even sure it would be as much fun. For me, that is.

About wine...there is this misconception about antioxidants, mainly resveratrol, which really is beneficial to health. But what most articles fail to mention is that to get enough resveratrol in the body from wine, we would need to drink probably 100 litres a day. The tiny amount in one glass isn't even noticed by the body and surely doesn't make up for all the bad that alcohol contains.

And beer is just liquid bread, which is not healthy even in its regular form. Most people would benefit by cutting bread completely out of their diets.

But like I said...everything is fine in moderation...when it comes to alcohol, the less the better.
