I haven't done much with AI yet, but I have been paying more attention to it, and it certainly looks powerful in terms of coding assistance.

The term AI does now seem to be plastered on everything, when in reality, there are many different types of AI. There are lots of people jumping on the bandwagon claiming AI when it's not really AI at all.

I have ChatGPT for the office so it's $30 per seat but I'm not sure how you get better than "make me a python script to do x" then having a working file 20 seconds later. I'll play with Code Pilot later but after learning html in the 90's I swore I'd never learn another language past enough info to edit scripts I'd bought.

AI can pick the right photo for a video representation on the first try instead of having to a.b.c.d.e.f test several.

Code Copilot got my AFF API working in one evening exactly how I wanted it to work. I'd been struggling with that for years and even hired 3 different respectable coders who never got it quite finished. It's made for coding specifically, not for answering general questions and stuff. A tool designed for one purpose is generally better at that one purpose than an all in one tool. That's all I'm saying.

Been having a lot of fun with AI, but definitely not on the level as some would suggest. Suppose I'm not a master prompter yet.

Most of the time it seems to mess up one thing or the other, but it's been great for getting an outline and then you'll have to go through it again and point out all the errors. While it's not maybe fully living up to the hype (at least in my experience), it does save a lot of time and you don't need to write silly code anymore. Plus it's nice to have an assistant that is lightning fast and never becomes tired of making small changes etc.

But anytime I tried to refactor more complex code or whatever it completely fucked it up, not even close to making it work. Just a step or two maybe in the right direction :upsidedow

I can't comment on what it did a few months back but this new 4o version is super nice for what I'm doing. If it fucks up I just post the errors back to it and it fixes them no problem. If the fix doesn't work it adds some debugging info, asks for the response and fixes it then. It also has memory and will pre-empt what you are trying to do, it's getting to the surreal point.

So far I have only worked in Python to recreate some scripts I'm tired of paying for updates on but it has done them perfectly (better actually) and is able to data mine from other websites / provide code to data mine from those specific sites.

Another day, another couple thousand saved. Struggling to find a downside.

I use them all consistently to make money.

It brings it home to me how smart the smartest humans are. After all, it's humans who made this. There is a huge difference between the average coder/scripter, and the very smartest programmers, who can make mind blowing stuff like chatgpt and copilot.

I tried Code Pilot today, and god damn that thing is vastly superior to just the regular. The regular works like a charm, but Code Pilot is in a class of it's own.
