I am referring to the cost of the site membership. What price point are you more likely to be interested in pushing?

Since we are talking about reoccurring income, how much does a higher membership fee sway your decision to promote the site?

Let's assume this is a 50/50 revshare.

Since most of my "sponsors" are people I promote because I like them, price doesn't affect the decision much. If it were just for the money, I would start at $20 sites, and would avoid anything over $34.95... The balance between a good payoff and conversions.

On a related note, I just raised my pricing to appeal to webmasters more. I think falling in the middle of the range I quoted appeals to most people. (But what do I know about most people?)

I don't pay any attention to the price point. If I like a site or I like the site's webmaster(s), then I'll test it out with a bit of traffic and see if it pays. If it looks like it is doing well, I will up promotion. I tend to steer clear of cookie cutter sites with nothing original to offer because I don't think they are really fair to the surfer, but, other than that, I leave it up to the surfer if they are comfortable with a particular price.

This does not seem like good business sense to me. Just because I may like the webmaster does not mean that the site will sell or even retain.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am into this for the money. The webmaster can be the biggest dick in the world but if his sites sell and retain then you make more money than you do if you push your buddies site.

I can think of a couple of rather large programs who's owners post here on a somewhat regular basis and I can personally tell you that these owners have bought the friends they have, in most cases. Is this how you justify if you like the owner or not?

Seriously, I would like to know.

I always consider price points but not for what I will make but for what the surfer is willing to pay, I would not consider pushing a site that was 39.95 inless it had the content of deluxepass or something.. So i will sit mid range and pick 29.95, Fair for all.

As for your question,I kinda like the option of picking what I want to offer my surfers...Theres a few out there that let the affiliate select..I don't really see a downside to it

Kind of a dumb question really. You can't gain anything from this poll because the variations in all the deciding factors are too broad. The cost of a membership is absaloutly nothing compared to the affilate payout, the site concept, design, niche, etc...

It would make a bit more sense if the price difference was a lot bigger, but these small amounts arent what make the difference. This is targeted traffic speaking of course.

Not everyone thinks like you. There are a few people in this industry who are my real friends, who I actually *trust*. It isn't about who is funny, or cool. I like their sites, so I send them some traffic and hope I get some signups.

I simply do not believe that money is the root of all happiness, sorry.
