Last year mine was only $800 CAD for a Suzuki Katana 600. I was a first time rider but had taken the motorcycle training course which brought down the price astronomically.

Just picked up my yamaha raodstar warrior and took the motorcycle training course. This is my first bike and it's a 1700cc cruiser that weighs 650 pounds. It's big and fast, but I realize my limitations and ride cautiously, and recommend the training course to anybdy who plans on riding.

$700 a year insurance in NY.

Don't get anything small to start off with, you will get bored with the bike. Just cuz it can go fast doesn't mean you have to ride fast. BTW, riding the twistys on a bike is as much fun as going fast

Good Luck with the bike

Paid $60/mo for full coverage on my 600f4i with State Farm until I got rear ended...

Only had to wait a day for my claim check.

I believe I only pay $300 or so for 6 months... I live in michigan so don't pay in winter I'm 20, had the motorcycle certification before I was even 16 so that might mean something I don't know.

Oh and I use progressive, they seem to be really good for motorcyclists.

Yeah once I had my R1 a few months... I switched it to the same plan as my truck as a week driver and got it down to 99 a month.... they told me that to have that bike at 19 was like insuring a lambo ..... I don't see why.... I toped that bike a 214mph... I think lambo's go like 226 don't they?

About $650 for a 2k Ducati Monster m900s in Houston. Houston is one of the highest insurance rate zones. Been riding over 30 yrs with a good record. I still pay double what people are paying with an address just 15 miles from my zip code.
