Also start prioritizing fiber in your diet. Important for colorectal health but also fiber binds to cholesterol. I aim for 30g every day and add chia seeds to a smoothie every day (also high in omegas)

there is no correlation between dietary cholesterol, dietary fat and heart disease. atherosclerosis and fatty organs etc is the direct result of chronically high blood sugar due to high sugar and simple carb intake. there was never ANY scientific evidence for this and "eat a low fat, low cholesterol diet" was advice (in 1980) that was based on absolutely nothing except observations in autopsies in heart attack victims.
if you want to be healthy, cut all the sugar and simple carbs out of your diet. all. not some. all. start eating actual meat like a sane person... like your ancestors did for millions of years. stop eating garbage like fruit which is absolutely nothing but fructose (the worst possible form of sugar), water and fiber... fiber which is 100% pointless in a diet since it has zero nutritional benefit whatsoever and the "need" to eat fiber is just a bullshit myth hyped by food manufacturers and agricultural lobbyists. these conversations are maddening. there is no such thing as "good cholesterol" or "bad cholesterol"... there is only "cholesterol". LDL and HDL are not "cholesterol". they are the carrier particles which transport cholesterol. LDL is present at arterial damage sites precisely because there is an attempt to repair arterial damage. damage from what? fucking sugar... glycation/glycoxidation and oxidation of the LDL particles themselves... causing them to stick to or scratch (cause damage) to the arterial walls creating a vicious cycle until the arteries are hard and blocked. If you want proof positive that your doctor is an asshole, ask him "what is LDL's role in the arteries" ... transports cholesterol to repair arterial damage "what is causing the damage?" .... uhm... errr.. uhhhh... well,.... uhm.... there is no shortcut. If you're going to continue eating the foods that are causing the actual harm, there is no supplement or magic food thats going to "undo it" IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU START EATING IF YOU DON'T STOP EATING SUGAR I mean fuck... we still live in a country where moms are buying cereal (incredibly unhealthy), marked as "heart healthy" and that proudly boasts "fortified with iron" where the manufacturer added literal iron shavings to the product (nothing that is bioavailable). You guys buy "heart healthy" breads that literally are worse for you on the glycemic index that just eating a bowl of plain white table sugar. Or "high in fiber" because they added literal sawdust to it. Nothing that you believe about health and nutrition is correct and is almost entirely based on the marketing messages and lobbying efforts of food manufacturers. Once you understand that, you then have a chance. ![]() ![]()

More oatmeal, it's amazing and full of fiber.
Shit even if you hate plain oatmeal, I always suggest getting the ones with little fruit chunks in it or flavored oatmeal. |

you're not supposed to be fat. you're supposed to be lean and muscular. every person is supposed to be a "fit person".... but aren't. furthermore, athletes develop diabetes and heart disease and cancers and dementias all the time after decades of "carb loading" and eating high carb diets. aging distance runners for example start gaining fat and often type 2 diabetes as insulin resistance catches up to them. its very common.

Oatmeal is legit the one food that can be eaten that carries numerous health benefits, increased fiber, lowers cholesterol, lowers bloodsugars, stabilizes body weight and helps overall heart health, it also helps with the gut and is nutrient dense. Its not just breakfast food either, add it to stews, soups, sauces and even milkshakes and smoothies, just eat more of it, whichever method works for you. In the last 6 months my cholesterol has dropped 50% to a healthier level and blood sugars are 'normal' too. Seriously, start eating oatmeal.

it doesn't matter what you "start eating" as much as it matters what you stop eating.
you guys keep attributing changes to adding something to your diet and omit the fact that you eliminated things from your diet and that is where change occurred. you can't add oatmeal to a diet thats making you sick and suddenly start getting better because of adding oatmeal. if you must, a low glycemic carb is better than a high glycemic carb, but if you're still eating the same quantity of low glycemic carbs, the cholesterol problem remains the same (k.e. chronically high blood glucose levels/arterial damage, dementia risk etc) no matter how much oatmeal you eat. further, eating shitty over processed fruit and sugar added oatmeal (i.e. instant oatmeal from Quaker) is no better than eating Krispy Kreme for breakfast.

Then she got excited about truly helping people. She was determined. That lasted less than a year. No one listens. Depending on the gym type, it's usually less than 5% of the total people saying that they will do anything, make every sacrifice and follow every plan that actually do. In most cases that number is around 1%. People like habit. People like easy. People like convenience. The brain is hard wired to resist change. Then you throw on top of that addiction, depression etc. In addition to people very strongly resisting any kind of change and ultimately reverting back to older routines after about 5-6 weeks, everyone has the worst wives tales and myths burned into their brains and thinks the most absurd things are gospel. So you're constantly fighting the stupidest ideas about diet and nutrition, some from the government, but most from the marketing messages of food manufacturers. I mean... think about our Saturday mornings growing up. Start the day with a big glass of orange juice, a big stack of whole wheat pancakes, whole wheat toast, margarine instead of butter, no bacon! etc. Very literally the exact formula for obesity, diabetes and heart disease and cancer. How many times have we been told by "them" that eggs are good, eggs are bad, eggs are good again etc. People just live in this weird fog of stupidity when it comes to eating. That's understandable but what I can never wrap my mind around is that people really don't care about learning. They want to be told something that feels good, then they'll just do that. <personal rant> It's not tough people. We spent well over a 1,000,000 years eating almost entirely meat... thats why you're not living in a tree trying to hide from lions and have a brain 3X larger than our next closes living ancestors who still function at the level of a developmentally disabled 2 1/2 year old child... and now you're eating mostly highly processed foods loaded with sugar as the second most common filler by volume after water (fructose - the absolute worst form) added to everything from your beloved whole wheat pasta to your 542 grain bread that is worse for you than eating raw white sugar to your idiotic instant "oatmeal". 12,500 years ago there was a mass extinction event that wiped out most large ruminant animals forcing those who survived, to forage for whatever they could eat and we did develop a sort of generalized gut/digestive system. However, how any human eats today is 1,000,000 miles away from how we at just 100 years ago. Doesn't that tell you anything??? It should be painfully obvious to anyone that if you want to be healthy, you should be looking backwards, not forwards. The first autopsy verified heart attack was in 1912 in the. They exploded from there. Heart disease, cancers etc all correlate directly to sugar consumption, alcohol consumption and smoking trends... as these things increased, disease increased rapidly. There is nothing on the timeline of human history about eating oatmeal to be healthy. The introduction of grain into the human diet brought disease and obesity. But slowly since it couldn't be harvested at scale like today. Even worse, modern grains (wheat is 100,000+ times removed genetically from what humans ate just 5000 years ago). Modern dwarf wheat is among the most highly engineered foods there is... and most widely consumed... yet the same fucking EU jackoffs that will cry day and night about "GMO foods" ignore the simple fact that their diets are mostly GMO foods... engineered in a lab, namely modern wheat and other grains which are the base ingredient of almost everything you eat. If anyone wants to be healthy... then start looking at what people were eating and how they were eating before 1900. Before obesity became the norm. Before heart disease became the number one killer and then cancer. Stop thinking there is some magical "oh, if i do this new thing, everything will be better going forward". Thats so fucking ignorant and intellectually lazy. On the whole, humans in since 1980 have been smoking less, drinking less, exercising more and eating less fat, less cholesterol and more carbs etc and getting sicker... dementias, cancers, heart disease, obesity, diabetes etc etc etc etc exploded at the same time. Life expectancy has been offset by medications and medical treatments evolving but the core health problems have worsened. At what point do people wake the fuck up? "eat oatmeal bro, it will change your life" as you wait in line at Starbucks to get a 1200 calorie cup of sugar and fat, euphemistically called "coffee" so you can feel better about your idiotic eating habits... Jesus fucking Christ. Heart disease didn't happen to you people. It's something you chose and continue to choose. Here's 500,000 people in 1969 - most with abs. Almost none who ranted and raved about oatmeal. They ate bacon and sausage and eggs for breakfast. Zero of whom feared heart disease. Maybe the problem in 2026 isn't more or less oatmeal and its just the fact that the blind is leading the blind when it comes to nutrition and it's got us to where we are? ![]()

If you work out and stay active, your body will tell you what to eat and what to avoid. After a sweaty workout or even a brisk walk on a warm day, nothing feels better than a shower and then just drinking plain water instead of all the over priced crap they sell in plastic bottles. Go to a grocery store after a solid workout and you'll subconsciously avoid fatty and sugary products. The volume of how much you need vs what you eat is also crucial. It's amazing how little the body needs to function. Anything extra just makes you age faster.
