Happened to me several years ago. The Oracle was telling me to set auto-renew for all the domains and whitelist/filter their notification emails so I always get them in time. Since these were applied, I haven't lost anything, and I handle hundreds of domains..
Send them a complaint!! NameSilo support used to respond fast.-=- Register with our ref link and we help you with the setup! -=-

There are some legitimate reasons to turn off auto-renew.
You want the domain to expire.
You don't want to save your credit card info, in the event of a data breach (i.e. Epik).
Turning off auto-renew prevents billing when a domain is transferred and no longer at the losing registrar.Support American Heroes | How Bad is My Batch? | Vaccine Deaths & Adverse Reactions | Free Speech Coalition | <WARNING> ePayService / Guerra Capital, INC / MTACC payments | Flirt4Free Fucks their Affiliates | Don't do business with piece of shit Andy Alvarez from Webmaster Central / VR3000, who said:

Yes, the grace period varies depending on registrar. For .com, the grace period can be anytime from 0 to 45 days. Most registrars tend to have a grace period between 30-42 days before the status changes to redemptionPeriod, although I've seen the grace period as short as 7 days.
tl;dr ... If a domain is valuable or important to your business, renew in advance of expiration.Support American Heroes | How Bad is My Batch? | Vaccine Deaths & Adverse Reactions | Free Speech Coalition | <WARNING> ePayService / Guerra Capital, INC / MTACC payments | Flirt4Free Fucks their Affiliates | Don't do business with piece of shit Andy Alvarez from Webmaster Central / VR3000, who said:

Damn, every domain registrar I've used sends countless emails. I get one weekly not only to my account email but the admin email for the domains for domains about to expire and ones that are in redemption period. All starting about a month in advance to renewal time.
I think with the amount of domains I have, I get an email from them every week for the past three years lol
