An unblockable popup (source code)

newer, smarter, faster popups for IE

<.s.c.r.i.p.t.>function unBlockPop(){if(document.all)showModalDialog('http ://www.google.com',window,'status:no; help:no; dialogwidth:300px; dialogheight:200px; center:yes; edge:raised; scroll:no;');}</.s.c.r.i.p.t.>

above source^

<a href="#" onclick="if(document.all)showModalDialog('http://www.google.com',window,'status:no; help:no; dialogwidth:300px; dialogheight:200px; center:yes; edge:raised; scroll:no;');">pop one popup up</a>

gets past most blockers, only works in IE

I'm getting the following error on IE 6:

Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible, not enabled, or of a type that does not accept the focus.

The error only occurs the 2nd (and subsequent) times the popup occurs.

Not sure, I found the source elsewhere and decided to post it. Any ja-vascr!pt gurus who feel like tweaking the source and reposting feel free.

Modal's are great for popups, i have been using them for years.... if you get the syntax right they will get by most blockers...

The only reason it's unblockable is cause it uses "showModalDialog" instead of "window.open". Decent software can easily take care of it. I use @Guard and I just added showModalDialog to the list of blocked match strings and the problem is taken care of. Considering that only 1% of people who use popup blocking software know what they are doing, it is in fact, unblockable.

The bug I mentioned earlier appears to be a result of hahahahahahahahahaha code on Google's site. As long as you control the popup window, the bug shouldn't be an issue. Of course you also have to make sure that you break out of the dialog box if you allow the surfer to click anywhere that he might encounter the hahahahahahahahahaha incompatibility. In other words this looks good for loading consoles but not so good for loading a full site.
